Saboteur -Workers vs. Guv to be Axed

By Mortz C. Ortigoza

LINGAYEN, Pangasinan – “Heads will roll definitely. And there should be proper accountability," excerpt of the inaugural address of Pangasinan Gov. Ramon V. Guico III on July 1 held at the swanky architectural wonder’s Sison Auditorium here.

The pugnacious second term governor who defeated former governor Amado Espino III in their rematch in an acrimonious electoral campaign where fake libelous news proliferated before the May 12, 2025 election accused several workers of the Bayambang Community Hospital and the provincial government in perpetuating lies by posting them at the social media during the election period.

"Marami pong mga nangyari na hindi po maka-totoo katulad po sa Bayambang District Hospital. Sinabi (na) iyong mga pinapakain natin ay may ipis, marumi at may buhok. Clearly it shows that many of those fabricated stories that were posted on social media were mere fabrications. And ginawa po ito ng ilang empleyado ng ating provincial capitol," said by the visionary Chief Executive of the gargantuan province.

He told the jam-packed crowd in the auditorium that at his first term as governor he gave chance to those workers of the provincial government to be employed despite becoming partisan when he challenged Espino on the May 9, 2022 election. The then incumbent Governor Espino lost by a margin of 188,586 votes to Guico – a former 5th District Congressman of Pangasinan.

“Sa pangalawang termino, iyong gumawa ng mga ganoong mga bagay (ay) wala na kayong tsansa," he said.

He told reporters at the sidelines of his inauguration that these saboteurs are contractual workers – meaning they are hired for six months and rehired at the discretion of the power that be.

“If they have accountability if they are truthful I take the responsibility if they, you know, done sabotage, spread lies, fake news you blame it to yourself hindi mo tinutulungan ang lalawigan. We have been exerting so many efforts na pagandahin ang reputations (of the province). I cannot stand lies”.
