De Venecias — The Poetry of Progress

 By: Z.J Ortigoza

THE De Venecias’ legacy is already etched in stone — as enduring as the tablets of Mount Sinai on which God carved the Ten Commandments. In the Pearl of the Orient Seas, their name has become a beacon of progress, their good works reverberated from the hometown shores to the national stage.

HISTORIC. After 90 years the historic link that will also ease the gridlock on the stretches of the highway in Dagupan and Binmaley is being rebuilt. The new Calmay Bridge rises as the spiritual successor to the Franklin Bridge, a landmark of the American era destroyed by floods in 1935.

Former five-time Speaker Jose de Venecia, Jr. is revered for championing peace, economic reform, and global diplomacy. Congresswoman Gina de Venecia is celebrated for her compassion and tireless advocacy for women, children, and families. And former Congressman Christopher “Toff” de Venecia represents a new generation of leadership — a visionary champion of the country’s creative industries.

A Country Runs Like Hell By Filipinos

By Mortz C. Ortigoza, MPA

My kids and the Missus are going gaga with the controversial flick of the Castillian looking Philippines President Manuel L. Quezon. They are watching his documentaries at YouTube before going to the celluloid screen at Robinsons.
Photo grabs from the internet.

Geez, I taught Quezon in my History class in college for ten years.
I blamed him for the present misery of the Filipinos because our thieving leaders are getting worst as the years pass by.

By Mortz C. Ortigoza

DAGUPAN CITY – Unless the stakeholders of artificial intelligence (AI) in the Philippines do something, the P4.9 trillion projected incomes from it for ten years will be prejudiced.

SPEAKER. IAmContact Solutions Chief Operation Officer Nestor Feland Panopio (3rd from left) shows his Certificate of Appreciation as resource speaker from the officers of Eventually Events PH after the A.I Technology Seminar sponsored by Eventually PH and Philippines-Zhangzhou General Chamber of Commerce Inc. held recently at the Blackscoop Cafe in Dagupan City.

I want you to put that in your mind: P4.9 trillion! This is actually the amount projected by the International Monetary Fund that can be generated with the use of AI. So maraming industry ang puedeng gamitan ng AI. So can you imagine if we can take part of that P4.9 trillion kahit 1% lang ng P4.9 trillion maraming pera na iyan,” according to IAmContact Solutions Chief Operation Officer Nestor Feland Panopio, one of the three resource speakers of the AI Technology Seminar sponsored by Eventually Events PH and Philippines-Zhangzhou General Chamber of Commerce Inc. held recently at the Blackscoop Cafe here.

Mayor J.R Prepares Constituents vs. Big One

BASISTA, Pangasinan – Due to the series of moderate and severe earthquakes that hit the country, the mayor of this town prepares his constituents how to deal with the calamity incase it strikes here.

PREPARATION. Mayor Jolly “J.R” Resuello (extreme right) exhorts the members of the members of the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (MDRRMC) how to prepare their constituents incase the Big One strikes the town.

“Magkakaroon din ng earthquake drill sa LGU Basista sa Monday upang maaktuwalan kung paano ang magiging responde ng ating PNP, BFP, MHO, at MDRRMO sa ating mga kababayang nangangailangan ng tulong sa pagkatapos ng pag yanig,” Mayor Jolly “J.R Resuello told the members of the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (MDRRMC) in a meeting held at his office.

He planned to have earthquake drills too in the villages, schools, and churches so his constituents could have enough knowledge how to deal with the temblor that already cost countless lives and harmed Filipinos and damaged their properties in Cebu and Mindanao in the past weeks.

“Atin din pong ipapa ocular ang ating mga buildings gaya sa school, barangay halls at mga churches, barangay, provincial at national roads at mga tulay na kailangan imonitor upang para maagapan agad (ang sakuna)” he told the members of the MDRRMC.

The wisdom of the preparation, Resuello explained, is to give immediate help those who are affected by the earthquake incase it strikes.

Meanwhile, the personnel of the Bureau of Fire Protection here, under the supervision of SFO4 Derrick P. Zulueta, Acting Municipal Fire Marshal, facilitated the participation of high school students from Beleng National High School, Bayambang, Pangasinan in firefighting exercises and final evaluation on first aid as part of their 10-day Work Immersion Program at this station.

Congresswoman Gina de Venecia, Representative of Pangasinan’s Fourth District, and Rey O. Sison, Regional Director of the Department of Migrant Workers–Regional Office I, together with Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) beneficiaries from the district.

YEOMAN'S JOB Calasiao's workaholic mayor Patrick A. Caramat (center) in a yeoman's job helping the staff of the municipal government to distribute boxes of foods to their constituents' scourge by the recent Typhoon Nando.
