REGIONAL LAND USE COMMITTEE OKAY’S CLUP; ENDORSES IT TO SP FOR FINAL APPROVAL
DAGUPAN CITY – The multi-agency regional land use committee of Region 1 approved on May 22 the revised Comprehensive Land Use Plan (CLUP) of Dagupan and endorses the same to the Sangguniang Panlungsod for final review and approval.
The CLUP was presented for review and approval by the City Planning and Development Office (CPDO) headed by Romeo Rosario before members of the regional committee from the National Economic Development Authority (NEDA), Housing and Land Use Regulatory Board (HLURB), Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Department of Agriculture (DA), Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), Office of Civil Defense, Department of Science and Technology (DOST), Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) and the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP).
The discussion was chaired by NEDA Region I Director Nestor G. Rillon along with HLURB Region I Director Teresita Galacgac as vice chair.

Mayor Belen T. Fernandez together with Rosario and City Administrator Farah Marie G. Decano defended the proposed revised CLUP before the multi-agency committee during the deliberation.
Rosario along with his staff was happy that the CLUP was approved with only minor revisions.
Fernandez is hopeful that with this development, the Sangguniang Panlungsod will give its imprimatur to the proposed mother plan.
The approval of SP is not, however, the final step before the CLUP can be fully operational.
“The approval of the HLURB national office is still required soon after the SP give its final approval,” Decano said. (Joseph C. Bacani/CIO/May 22, 2015)
