DAGUPAN CITY - Joint law enforcement offices seized around half a million pesos worth of illegal drug shabu in Barangay Nueva 2-3 here in an early morning raid.
Police Chief Christopher Abrahano said a composite team from the Dagupan City Philippine National Police, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Region 1, elements from Pangasinan Police Provincial Office, Special Action Force, and the Navy Intelligence started the raid at 4:00 AM of May 20 through six Search Warrants issued by Judge Galvez of the Regional Trial Court here.
In his report to PSSUPT Belli Tamayo, Officer in Charge of Pangasinan PPO, Abrahano said the search operations resulted to the confiscation of 36 sachets of shabu with a total weight of approximately 80 grams.
Edmund Guzman alias Sual and Amira Didatu, both subjects of the Warrant were arrested. Another seven persons were hauled to the police station for questioning.
Director Adrian Alvarino, PDEA 1 chief, said the subject of the search warrants were common targets of both PDEA and the police here.
Mayor Belen Fernandez commended the raiding team and vowed to continue her fight against the drug menace by using the full might of the law against drug traffickers.
Last year, Mayor Fernandez initiated the DRUG TXTLINE 0947-377-7777, a SMS based hotline were concerned citizens could text drug related information. The text line is part of her administration's revitalized Anti- Drug Program.
