CONGRESS. Senate Majority Floor Leader Alan Peter Cayetano
spoke last May
20 before the participants of the four-day First National
Fishing Producers’
Congress held at the Sison Auditorium, Capitol Complex
in Lingayen, Pangasinan.
Cayetano exhorted the participants, who came
from different places in the
country, how to position the country’s fish
industry’s comparative advantage
and economies of scale under the
Association of Southeast Asia Nation (ASEAN)
economic integration.
The other guests of honour and speakers in the Congress,
sponsored
by the Philippines Associations of Fish Producers (PAFCI), were
Philippine
Vice President Jejomar Binay, House Speaker Jose de Venecia,
Pangasinan
Governor Amado T. Espino, Jr., and ABONO Party List Chairman Rosendo
So. Agriculture Secretary Proceso Alcala was the main guest speaker on
Day 2.
The four days meeting started in May 18 and ended in May 21.
