DAGUPAN CITY -Street dancers from Barangay Pantal who represented Dagupan Bangus Festival is the overall champion in the Festivals of the North Street Dancing Competition held April 26 at the City Plaza.
Mayor Belen T. Fernandez congratulated the Dagupan contingent for winning the competition twice in a row besting 11 other festival champions from Northern Luzon.
“I am so proud of our street dancers because this is the second time that Barangay Pantal won the coveted award,” Fernandez said.
She also lauded the efforts of Pantal Punong Barangay Julie Perez for her all-out support to the street dancers which greatly contributed to her barangay’s success as back-toback winner in the Gilon! Gilon! and Festivals of the North street dancing competitions.

Pantal bagged P400,000 for being the overall champion.
Aside from this, Bangus Festival won as Best in Props grabbing another P10, 000 cash prize and best in street dancing winning additional P20, 000.

Coming in as 1st runner-up was Mango Festival of Masinloc, Zambales; 2nd runner-up, Halamanan Festival of Guiguinto, Bulacan; 3rd-runner up, Pamulinawen Festival of Laoag City and 4th runner-up, Abel-Iloko Festival of Caoayan, Ilocos Sur , bagging P200,000, P80,000, P60,000 and P50,000, respectively.
Among the other highlights of the competition was the Search for the Festival Queen where Dagupan’s representative Sarah Leanza Gabrillo won, the exhibition of 2015 Aliwan Fiesta’s grand champion street dancers Manaragat Festival of Tribu Katbalaugan from Samar and appearance of guest Kapuso stars Wowie De Guzman, Yasmien Kurdi, Chlaui Malayao, Krystal Reyes, Joyce Ching and Kristopher Martin.
