BBM Appoints P'sinan Guv RPOC Chair

Pangasinan Governor Ramon V. Guico III lauded President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. and Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Juan Victor C. Remulla for his appointment as the chairman of the Regional Peace and Order Council (RPOC) in Region-1.

He will serve the post from 2025 to 2028.



The region covers Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, and the garguntuan province of Pangasinan.

"Maraming salamat po Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. at DILG Secretary Juan Victor C. Remulla, sa tiwala," he said today (November 13) at the Facebook Page of the provincial government.

The Chairperson of RPOC is appointed 

by the President of the Philippines, typically from among the council's members, such as a Provincial Governor. This appointment is made to the President upon the recommendation of the DILG Secretary. 

RPOC function as a forum for coordinating and formulating plans to maintain peace and order and ensure public safety within a region. It monitors the implementation of programs, assess the public safety situation, and serves as a recommendatory body to the National Peace and Order Council (NPOC).

"Isang karangalan pong maitalaga bilang Chairperson ng Regional Peace and Order Council (RPOC) ng Region I para sa taong 2025–2028. Patuloy po tayong magtutulungan para sa kapayapaan at kaunlaran ng ating rehiyon," Guico added.

 The other duties of RPOC include formulating plans, creating policies for safe communities, and fostering coordination between different stakeholders like government agencies and local governments.
