URDANETA
CITY – The Revenue District Office-6 of the Bureau of Internal Revenue based
here beat its five counterparts in the region for having the most taxes
collected in the first quarter of the year.
CPA-
Lawyer Maria Isabel Barcia Utit, the RDO-6 Chief cited the spikes in the
aggregate collection of her personnel on the remittances of the private and
government sectors and their unceasing investigation of other taxpayers to pay
the correct taxes.
“RDO-6-Urdaneta
City hailed as No. 1 collection performer district in Revenue Region 1 for
substantially exceeding its collection goal for March 2017. I am
congratulating the men and women of RDO-6. We are the top performing district
for the first quarter of 2017. Keep up the good work! To all our stakeholders,
thank you for your continuing support and cooperation,” Utit stressed.
RDO-6 Chief
said the game changer why her office topped the highest collection in Region-1 was
the 60 percent revenue's collection increase in January this year versus the collection in
the same month last year.
Aside from
RDO-6 the other top performer RDOs based on the January-February data are
RDO-
1 - Laoag City, Ilocos Norte ranked as No.2;
RDO-2 Vigan City, Ilocos Sur ranked No. 3; RDO-5 Alaminos City, Pangasinan ranked No. 6; RDO-3
San Fernando City, La Union.
According
to RDO-6 Assistant Chief Charmaine C. dela Torre, the District, that supervises
one city and 15 towns, has a tax target of P1.65 billion for this year.
