DAGUPAN CITY – The Barangay Council of Caranglaan sought the support of the Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP)
to endorse
Barangay Resolution No. 40 requesting Fourth District Congressman Christopher De Venecia to allocate fund
for the conversion of the Caranglaan Elementary School into an Integrated School.
In his resolution on Monday, October 3, Public Works and Infrastructure Committee Chairman Councilor
Alvin T. Coquia disclosed that the conversion will redound to the benefit of poor students living in nearby
areas of Barangay Tebeng, Bacayao Sur, Bacayao Norte and Mayombo.
“This will save the parents and students additional transport fares and adverse effects of traffic congestion
particularly during rush hours. And because Barangay Caranglaan has no sufficient fund to cover the cost of
constructing a school building that will house the conversion of Caranglaan Elementary School into an Integrated
School, we needed the support of Cong. De Venecia,” said Coquia.
Reports said junior students from Caranglaan have to travel long from their homes to the Dagupan City National
High School where they are enrolled. Some others are enrolled at the Calasiao Comprehensive National
High School. (Joseph C. Bacani/CIO/Oct. 4, 2016)
