SAN CARLOS CITY – The chief of police (COP) in this 86
villages’ city cited the various efforts he undertook to lower the crime rates
and increase the crime efficiency solution of his police men.
Supt. Charles Umayam said that he encourages barangay
officials to have close coordination with the police to solve immediately
criminalities if not deter them and developed an efficient fast police reaction
time after the commission of a crime.
“Crime solution po
doon sa 2013 medyo mababa po 53.23% pero dito sa 2014, 65.03% we could credit
this dahil sa seminar conducted sa mga police natin, training para lalo sila
maalam sa mga ginagawa nila. At the same time sa mga solution o program natin
sa kapulisan dito sa San Carlos dahil bumababa tayo sa grassroots,” he
stressed in Filipino.
He said he could not compare the crime rates in 2015 because
he still has November to December where the number of crimes and those that
would be solved are still to be tabulated.
Umayam, an alumnus of the Philippine National Police
Academy, explained that murder was 13 cases in 2013 compared to 12 cases in
2014.
He cited the figure of murder in 2013 can be due to several
causes.
“Meron dito nangyayari
sa loob ng bahay ni report sa atin na patay na. Dito sa 2013 may shooting
incidents tayo na ni record. Nag va-vary ang data natin vary data”.
He said however that the overall picture in his police work
shows that all crime rates like murder, homicide, physical injury, and others
have declined.
Umayam said a crime is solved according to the national
police’s policy after the suspect was identified and charged in court.
