BINALONAN – A gubernatorial bet in Pangasinan was amazed by
the aesthetic turned around of this first class town.

“I was amazed by the
speed of the development of your town. This is the only place not only in the 5th
Congressional District but the entire province of Pangasinan that has spruced
up its plaza to beauty with so much speed,” former Pangasinan Congressman Mark Cojuangco who graced this town’s Christmas Bazaars' opening .
Cojuangco lauded Mayor Ramon “Mon-Mon” V. Guico III for his
foresight in how to flourish this thriving town.
“At hindi po
nangyayari iyan ng accidenti sinasadya po iyan. At hindi po iyan mangyayari
kung wala po tayong isang leader na merong napakagandang mahabang pananaw sa
development po natin ng ating bayan”.
He recalled that when he was a nine – year congressman of
the district and after the time his wife Representative Kimi replaced him, their
stints show they both tirelessly support the Guicos because they know their leadership
played a major role for the transformation of this town.
“At kung sakali mayor
na ako ay makakarating sa Lingayen bilang isang gobernador ay lalo po na makaka-asa ang Binalonan sa aking supporta sa development po ninyo (In case mayor I will
be catapulted as governor you can be assured that I will continue to support
the development of Binalonan)”.
Cojuangco said a lot of things can be done to this town
because he saw that all the help he and his wife conveyed as congressman to the
mayor here did not go in vain.
He cited that what makes this town a draw to people are the
lightning, clean surrounding, various business facilities, orderly stalls,
peace and order, the esplanade and comfort this town's bring, and the
arrays of goods the people can buy.
SM Save More, the grocery affiliate of SM Prime Holdings, Inc
(SMPHI), put shop here early this year.
Mayor Ramon V. Guico III said that SMPHI decided to invest
here after the local government built a huge facility that the Henry Sy owned
company can lease for millions of pesos a year.
“Dala ko iyong SM Save More and a few restaurants pupunta
dito," he stressed.
He said the upper part of the edifice will be for the
restaurants to rent where several of them would come from Manila.
Aside from bagging SM food here, Guico has been aggressively
transforming this thriving municipality in his second term as a clean and
green garden municipality, housing areas, and sports hub to cater for the
people in and outside of this town.
These infrastructures streak have been part of his plan to
make this burgeoning town an educational haven and gateway for people in and
outside of here after the municipality owned
University of Eastern Pangasinan (UEP) became a university during his
first term as mayor.
Cojuangco recalled his visits to other South East Asian
countries that make their cities an attraction to people because of the come-ons
they offer.
He pledged that he and his wife Rep. Kimi will continue to
help this town.
Mayor Guico, the third generation of the political families
here, is running unopposed for his third term in the 2016 mayoralty race.
Guico, in a radio report, said people from all over Pangasinan can visit the Christmas Bazaar Festival until January 2 next year.
