POE LOOKING FORWARD TO PRESIDENTIAL DEBATES

The string of disqualification cases lodged by her opponents’ allies in an attempt to remove her from the presidential race is not enough to dampen the optimism of Sen. Grace Poe, who declared that she is already looking forward to the official presidential debates next year.
Poe said the debates, which begin in February, would allow her to present her agenda and platform of government to a bigger audience, saying voters deserve a political discourse that is about them and their needs.
The senator first bared her 20-point agenda during her declaration of presidential bid last September, the only candidate to have done so.
Poe assured her supporters that despite the recent rulings from two divisions of the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) canceling her certificate of candidacy, she continues to be a candidate for president. Only the Supreme Court can judge her qualifications as a candidate, she said.
Poe’s legal counsel, George Garcia, has filed two motions for reconsideration before the COMELEC en banc and said their camp is prepared to take the fight to the Supreme Court if necessary.
The lone independent candidate in the 2016 presidential elections asked her supporters to help her explain to other voters that she is still a presidential candidate and her name will stay on the ballot until the Supreme Court says otherwise.
Poe said she remains committed to running a positive campaign and not engaging in black-ops despite the legal hurdles being thrown at her by other political contenders.
Positive po ang ating campaign on how we can help the country,” Poe said. #
