DAGUPAN CITY - Another Top Drug personality chose to fight it out with police in a drug buy bust before midnight, Tuesday at 10:30 Pm here.
Oscar Abella, of legal age, a resident of Pantal District here and a notorious drug pusher in the barangay, who had string of pending drug cases, shot at police whom he had just transacted with in a drug buy bust operation before being killed himself.
Abella was with an unidentified companion on board a single motorcycle when they showed up at Tebeng Road, Barangay Tebeng here for the drug transaction earlier arranged by the police.
After the drug transaction and before he could be arrested, Abella fired his revolver at the arresting officer. The police officer fired back and Abella fell off the motorcycle while the suspected driver cum pusher immediately fled.
Meanwhile, a police mobile patrol car who was patrolling nearby tried to intercept the second suspect on board a motorcycle but was fired upon. No one was injured inside the patrol car but the suspect escaped.
The police here is currently pursuing leads to identify and arrest the second suspect.
