SP congratulates PNP Chief Marquez

Lingayen – The Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) in its regular session held on September 15 passed and approved Provincial Resolution No. 474-2-15, congratulating the newly-installed Philippine National Police (PNP) Director-General Ricardo C. Marquez.

Authored by all SP members, said resolution expresses Pangasinan officialdom’s honor and pride, recognizing PNP Chief Marquez as one of the respected sons-in-law of Pangasinan. He was married to Luz Barbiran-Marquez, a native of barangay Payas in Sta. Barbara town.

The new PNP Chief was installed on July 16, the same day when his predecessor, Officer-in-Charge Deputy Director-General Leonardo Espina, received retirement honors.
He bested two candidates more senior than him: the PNP’s current number 3, Deputy Chief for Operations, Deputy Director-General Marcelo Garbo, Jr. (PMA ’81); and the number 4 cop of the PNP, Chief of Director Staff, Deputy Director Danilo Constantino (PMA ’82).
Prior to Marquez’s present post, he had served as Chief of the Directorate of Operations of the PNP, Regional Director of Regional Police Office 1 and Chief of Nueva Ecija Provincial Police Office,
A graduate of PMA “Sandigan” Class of 1982, Marquez has been tasked to carry out important missions in different parts of the country and to undertake numerous law-enforcement assignments.

“One of the highlights of his career was when he was chosen as the National Joint Task Force Commander for the Pope Visit 2015 where he ably managed the planning and the implementation of the security plan without any untoward incident,” the resolution states.
