CITY IS A SEAL OF GOOD LOCAL GOVERNANCE AWARDEE
DAGUPAN CITY – The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) through Reggie R. Colisao, DILG Pangasinan Provincial Director has confirmed with Mayor Belen T. Fernandez that Dagupan is a Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) Awardee.
Colisao, in her meeting with Fernandez on August 26 at the city museum, disclosed that the city passed the three core assessment areas and the three essential criteria with a high rating which makes the city eligible to access the Performance Challenge Fund (PCF).
“I am happy and proud to announced that Dagupan City is an awardee of the SGLG after passing, with a high rating, the three core assessment areas such as good financial housekeeping, disaster preparedness and social protection and the three essential criteria such as business friendly and competitive LGU, peace and order, and environmental management. Either one of the three essential criteria would be enough but Dagupan pass in all the critera,” said Colisao.
Colisao further said that with the SGLG, the city is now eligible to access the Performance Challenge Fund of P5 million which used to be P3 million.
“The PCF will be used for eligible projects such as MDG supportive PPAs, Disaster Risk Reduction Management, Local Economic Development and Solid Waste Management,” said Colisao.
Fernandez was happy to received the information as the fruits of her labor is now reaping recognition and honors from various agencies like the DILG. (Joseph C. Bacani/CIO/Aug. 26, 2015)
