STA. BARBARA – Congresswoman Gina de Venecia distributes recently here farm machineries like the P1.4 million combine harvester to farmer organizations in the four towns and a city 4th District of Pangasinan.
“Ngayong hapon, tayo ay mamimigay ng mga makinarya sa pagsasaka, gaya ng combine harvester, hand tractor, thresher, pumps & engines at four-wheel tractor sa labing-apat na organisasyon ng agricultural farmers mula sa 4th District,” she stressed at the Pangasinan Research and Experiment Center of the Department of Agriculture (DA) here.
The lady solon said the millions of pesos for the machinery came from the allocation of the national government through her intercession to buttress the stocks of the farmers.
De Venecia said farmers should laud President Aquino III and DA Secretary Proceso Alcala for the success of their programs in reinvigorating the agricultural sector.
The solon said that she is hell bent in Congress to continue filing and deliberating bills that give more funds for more irrigation and the distribution of farm machineries.
De Venecia said she authored too House Bill 2074 or the Crop Insurance Law that would give more benefits to farmers.
Included in the proposed law, she continued, are the inland fisheries, animal husbandry like poultry, swine, and cattle production.
De Venecia said that she lauded the Aquino Administration “Tuwid na Daan (Straight Path)” slogan where monies in the government have been seen flowing directly to the people in the form of the machinery she witnessed being distributed here by the D.A
