DAGUPAN CITY,– The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has set up satellite registration centers in Pangasinan malls to encourage those who still do not have their biometrics to validate their registration.
Lawyer Marino Salas, provincial election supervisor, said that satellite registration and validation of voters in different malls in the province has already started and will end on August 14.
Schedules are as follows: August 7-CSI Lucao in Dagupan City; August 7, 13 and 14-CSI Alaminos, CSI Bayambang, CSI Lingayen, CSI Malasiqui, CSI Pozorrubio, CSI Mangaldan and CSI Rosales; August 13 and 14-CSI Market Square in Dagupan City and CSI Urdaneta City; August 7 and 14-CSI San Carlos City.<!--more-->
“As of August 2015, some 104,000 Pangasinan voters have no biometrics yet and are in danger of being disenfranchised during the 2016 elections if they fail to register until October 31 this year,” Salas said.
Biometrics data refer to the automated identification of an individual, which include his or her photograph, fingerprint and signature. (VHS/AMM/PIA-1, Pangasinan)
