Pangasinan products invade US website


LINGAYEN---  Ready-for-export products of Pangasinan are now in the website of the Pangasinan-USA Brotherhood Association (PUBA) in Southern California.

                PUBA President Eddie Ferrer, in his letter to the technical working group (TWG) for Product Development and Export Promotion last July 6, said it is an early promotion of Pangasinan products prior to the scheduled US Diversity Business Exposition on October 3-4 in California.

                The PUBA, he said, has now been doing an early marketing for Pangasinan products in the   US by meeting with prospective buyers and importers adding that it will help the local producers sell their products ahead of time.

                He also informed the TWG that series of meetings among the expo convenors have been conducted in preparation for the said expo. This includes the creation of counterpart committee who will be tasked to assist the Pangasinan delegation during their stay in the US.

                The Expo convenors include the City of Artesia, Artesia Chamber of Commerce, Filipino-American Chamber of Commerce, Southern Corridor, Expo Committee Members and PB-USA Brotherhood.


                Likewise, Ferrer said the group also tackled the preparation of invitation letter to the individual local producer for the application of US visa.

                Earlier, there are 15 Pangasinan local producers who have assured of their participation in the US Expo. The province will represent the country in the two-day exposition that will be joined by 13 developing countries in Asia.

                The participants include the Pangasinan Tropical Fruits MPC (dried and pickled mango), Rotico Products (peanut brittle), Dam Good Stuff (fashion accessories), DOREVI producs (bamboo craft), Bandulf Industries (woodcraft wooden products), JE’s and JB’s Bagoong  (fish sauce) and Aguinaldo Interiors (toy chest and hampers).

                Other exhibitors are Crafter’s Joy (handicraft), Connie’s Furniture, GEM Handicraft (Native flower décor), MArmont Enterprise (buri bayong), Dragon Fruit Farm (fresh dragonfruit) BBLM Unistar, Inc (bamboocraft furniture) and VWT Enterprises (native handicrafts).    

                Meanwhile, Vice Gov. Jose Ferdinand Calimlim, Jr left for US last Monday, July 7 to meet the PUBA and other concerned groups for the expo event activities.(mer/pio)
