Sarah Duterte supports Honda’s Road Safety Advocacy

Sucat, Parañaque—May 8, 2018—Daughter of Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte and Davao City Mayor Attorney Sarah Duterte Carpio, better known as Inday Sarah to Davaoeños, begins her Safety Riding training at the Honda Safety Driving Center (HSDC) in Sucat, Paranaque as part of her support to Honda’s Road Safety Advocacy.

A lawyer by profession and a certified motorcycle lover and rider as influenced by her father, Atty. Duterte is known to go around her hometown of Davao on her Honda XR200.She is also an avid rider of Big Bike models.

“Millions” to shower voters as poll comes near

Many mayors in Pangasinan will be financially aiding their favored candidate for the punong barangay (PB or village chief) in the May 14 village poll by covertly giving them from tens of thousands to millions of pesos to see them win.

“I will be giving P50, 000 to each of the almost the entire incumbent barangay captains (old title of the chiefs) that seek reelection and those running for the top post for the first time,” cited by a mayor to his pet bets at the Third Congressional District of the 48 towns and cities’ province.

He said he abets this practice because his vice mayor and an opponent in the next year’s mayoralty poll have been giving financial aid to his backed up candidates for the village chairmanship.

“Son of a gun, P2,500 per voter?!” I asked incredulously two Ordinary Joes, who came from a barangay in the Third Congressional District of  my province, who bragged to me that the sum was the amount shelled out by the candidate for the kapitan (village chief) seat in their barangay.

“The biggest amount given to a voter during a village election as far as I know held in a village in Dagupan City was P1,000, “ I quoted what a re-elective Kap told me when he out smarted his opponent in an ingratiation contest who first gave P700 per voter.

“Pataasan kami (We have to bid out each other),” he quipped.

Athena Intal, chief of the construction section of this city's Engineering Office, cited that side by side with the on site development will be the construction of 1.5km-long drainage system under DPWH worth P37M as the first phase of the project from Sta. One of the few persons in the world who extensively knew the South and North Koreas’ politics is Philippines’ former Five-Time Speaker Jose de Venecia.

De Venecia is the Founding Chairman of the International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP) where many South Korean politicians are members.

When he was Speaker of the House of Representatives, through his intercession, he brought in the Philippines many multi-billion pesos projects and grants from the South Korean government because of his connection with the people in high offices there.

Political Columnist Mortz Ortigoza, for the umpteenth time, interviewed de Venecia whom the former considered as a political connoisseur on foreign affairs like the 2018 Inter-Korean - Summit held at the Peace House in the South Korea’s held territory near the demarcation line. The Summit was led by capitalist South Korea President Moon Jae-in and pariah but nuclear powered communist state North Korea Chairman of the Workers’ Party and Supreme Leader Kim Jong-un.

The discussion between the two leaders revolved on denuclearization, peace establishment, and improvement of inter-Korean relations for their mutual benefit. Excerpts of the thoughts of de Venecia:

MORTZ C. ORTIGOZA (MCO) : Do you think  the Inter - Korean - Summit between Kim and Moon will be for good for the peace  between the two Koreas and their neighbor's Japan and other countries?
