BOLINAO - Pristine beaches, golden shorelines,
lush vegetation, million years old Hundred Islands, clear turquoise water from
falls, Renaissance-style black coral stones made church, breathtaking
caves, and other gems are the draws of the nine towns and city’s Western
Pangasinan that made its tireless congressman moves heaven and earth to lobby
for billions of pesos funding from the national government to maximize the
potentials of the areas.
First District Representative Jesus “Boying”
Celeste said that the initial cash flows for the constructions of the billions
of pesos national highway at the coastal areas to amplify tourism that he shepherded in the national budget was the fruit of his consultations with
municipal and village officials.

He cited that the vaunted national artery that
snake near the seashores materialized
because of the collaboration and cooperation of the Departments of Public Works
& Highways, Tourism, Environment & Natural Resources, and Philippine Tourism
Authority.

already billowed at the coastal areas of this rustic

Northern Watch Newspaper learned that the twelve and twenty kilometers highways in Sual and
Agno towns would follow suit while the national road lines for the municipalities
of Bani, Burgos, Dasol, and Infanta are in the survey stage.

The major tourist hubs in this municipality
alone are Patar Beach with its more than a dozen hotels and resorts, Bolinao
Falls where people can swim and cliff dive, renaissance-era Saint James the
Great Parish Church where sightseers can saunter or worship, Wonderful Cave and
its crystal clear water embellished by the unique rough rock formations inside,
the million years old Hundred Island National Park in Alaminos City, the
Bangrin Marine Protected Area, the pristine and sandy beaches of Olanen and
Surip, and the breathtaking Nalsoc Cave
all in Bani, the sprawling Salt Farms in Dasol, and other tourist attractions the Western District offers.
With the ambitious national artery established at the coastal areas of the District, Celeste said it would generate more employment and bolster the standard of living of the people there.
Convention Center
The solon likewise eyes the construction of a
1,500 seats convention center.
Celeste
knows what he was talking.
In
his family owned world class El Pescador Resort and Hotel alone, patrons as far
as Manila “shoved and jostled” for reservations of rooms and convention halls
for their meetings at the same time relish the amenities provided by El
Pescador like the arrays of bands that play different genres to the various
kinds of tourists that relish and frolics on the beach and the sea.
“Several big organizations have expressed
their desire to hold conventions in our place and I realized it’s time we have
enough facilities to accommodate them,” he said.

Other Projects
Moreover, the solon collaborates with the mayors and the various civic and non-government organizations under the auspices of the Tourism Department how to mentor tour guides and workers in dealing with visitors and teach them about proper sanitation of the surroundings.
“I am happy and proud to say that our
people in the First District have finally realized that tourism is part of
their everyday life, that tourism is one way to prosperity and better life,” he said.
Celeste
mulled too to construct a bay walk just like in the Second and the Fourth
Congressional Districts of Pangasinan.
“One
of our projects is fencing the highway going to the airport in Alaminos,” he
cited.
He
said that the national government through his intercession allocated funds for
the botched airport project that he said would be a sparkplug for the economic
growth of the tourist spots.
In
the past, he told Northern Watch,
that the presence of an airport and casino in this town will phenomenally
catapult the financial viabilities of the hotels and beaches here, Alaminos
City, and other towns because of the influx of local and foreign tourists like
the Chinese, South Koreans, Taiwanese, and others nationalities who will not
only patronize the casino but enjoy the natural beauties of the natures in the
areas.

“Unlike in other countries, we offer
multiple tourist attractions here,” he said by citing Las Vegas and Macau
in the United States and China that only offer casinos without the beaches and
other nature spots offered by the District.
Celeste
is a member of the Committees on National Defense and Security, Appropriations,
Games & Amusement, Natural Resources, North Luzon Growth Quadrangle,
Reforestation, Science and Technology, and Tourism in the House of
Representatives.
He
is serving his last term as the solon of Western Pangasinan that will end on
May 2019 election.
