MANGALDAN – Mayor Bona Fe de Vera-Parayno underscored on her fourth State of the Municipality Address (SOMA) last Thursday the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) award and other awards this burgeoning town received and projects it has done and to be implemented.Out of the 44 towns in the province of Pangasinan , 28 local government units including this bustling were recipients of the prestigious reward from the Department of Interior & Local Government. It has a prize of more than two million pesos.

This local government unit was led by Mayor Parayno who received the SGLG's award last November 25 from the leadership of the DILG led by Secretary Catalino S. Cuy and associates held at the Manila Hotel.

Aside from this town, the other SGLG awardees were Aguilar, Alcala, Asingan, Balungao, Bautista, Bayambang, Binalonan, Bolinao, Bugallon, Burgos, Calasiao, Dasol, Infanta, Laoac, Lingayen, Malasiqui, Manaoag, Mangatarem, Rosales, San Fabian, San Manuel, San Nicolas, Sta. Barbara, Tayug, Umingan, Urbiztondo and Villasis.
SGLG award is the highest fete given by DILG to a town on its performance in the areas of financial administration, social protection and disaster preparedness.
The three other criteria in the award include business friendliness and competitiveness, peace and order, and environmental management.

Since elected in 2013 and reelected in May 2016, Mayor Parayno has continued to advocate for integrity, transparency, and accountability in her administration. The SOMA held at the town's plaza last dusk Thursday highlighted the local chief executive’s accomplished projects here.
