On the other hand, the Freedom of Information as discussed by Miriam Aquino of the PIA-Region I, is PresIdent Rodrigo Duterte’s action to give chance to everyone to access information pertaining to the government.
FOI was made through Executive Order No. 2 on July 23, 2016, to uphold the constitutional right of the Filipinos.
“Sa FOI, napapadali ang process ng pagkuha ng impormasyon, nagiging comprehensive para madaling ma-analyze, madaling maintindihan,” Aquino said.
Aquino clarified that a person who requests for an information must submit a request letter citing the purpose of the information he wanted to get. After submitting a valid identification card, an agency is given 15 working days to process the request depending on the analysis of the requester’s purpose.(VHS/PIA-Pangasinan)
