CAMP BGEN OSCAR M FLORENDO- The Ilocos Sur police arrested Edgar C. Pablico, 42, married, barangay treasurer and a resident of Barangay San Vicente, Magsingal, Ilocos Sur, after the authorities learned that Pablico is the mastermind of a robbery hold-up that recently happened in Ilocos Sur.
Based on reports reaching this headquarters, Mario B. Urban,acting Punong Barangay of San Vicente, Magsingal, Ilocos Sur together with Pablico were on their way home onboard a motorcycle at 2:20 in the afternoon of December 17 when two unidentified male suspected robbers staged them along the national highway in Barangay Parada, Sto. Domingo, Ilocos Sur.
The suspects allegedly pointed at them a caliber .45 and hastily grab a red envelope containing cash amounting to Php135,741.33 and Land Bank check worth Php3,120.49.
Chief Superintendent Roman A. Felix, regional director of Police Regional Office 1 (PRO1), said the arrest of Pablico came after investigation of the Sto. Domingo police, pointing Pablico as the brain of the said incident.
The accusation against Pablico is being supplemented by testimonies of witnesses to include the sworn statement of the Acting Punong Barangay.
Further investigation likewise revealed that Pablico was involved in previous anomalies and in despicable financial transactions to include his numerous debts.
A case of robbery hold-up against Pablico and two (2) John Does was referred to the Prosecutor’s Office with No. NPS I-03-INV 14L-00641.
Meanwhile, PCSupt. Felix ordered the Ilocos Sur Police to conduct an in-depth investigation on said case to identify and arrest the two at large suspects
