Espino inducts New KBP Officers


LINGAYEN – Governor Amado T. Espino, Jr. said that the media is an indispensable partner in the development efforts of the government, especially in the anti-illegal drugs campaign.
            The governor expounded on his remark about the media’s role in governance during the Brodkaster’s Night of the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas (KBP), Pangasinan chapter, and Induction of the organization’s new set of officers held in Dagupan City last December 12.
            The governor thanked members of the media for their support to the provincial government’s various development advocacies and programs that are being carried out to improve the local economy and make life better for Pangasinenses.
            However, the provincial chief executive singled out the media’s strong support to the government’s fight against the drug menace which, he said, has brought untold damages to society, particularly crimes against persons and properties.
             He also called on the media practitioners to also put premium on tourism and agriculture in their news coverage, noting the milestone the province had been gaining recently.
            Gov. Espino told members of the media that the campaign on illegal drugs has been one of his priority projects.
            He likewise told the KBP that as members of the information dissemination partners, “We really need you here” stressing that the drug problem which is a major concern of the country needs important attention as it poses great danger to the people starting from what he described as the “very core of our society” which is the family.
            Towards this end, he urged all members of the KBP to continue providing support to the noble aims of the provincial government of Pangasinan towards the development of its people especially the poor.
            He likewise reiterated his previous stand of not talking about politics yet, as he would like to maximize his remaining 18 months for the performance of his duty as the provincial chief executive.

            Gov. Espino inducted the new set of officers of the KBP led by incoming chairman for 2015 Noel Sibayan to be vacated by outgoing 2014 chairman Jay Mendoza, station managers of Love Radio and Sonshine Radio respectively.
            The other members of the new set of officers include Standards Performance Officer- Mark Gemson Espinosa (I-FM); Secretary - Josie Sarmiento (DZWN Bombo Radyo); Treasurer- Sheryl Palaganas (MOR ABS CBN); and Auditor- Bernie Errasquin (DZMQ-Radyo ng Bayan-Dagupan).
            He also assured the KBP of his support by helping the media organization establish its own office.
