Prov’l Gov’t to hold Misa de Gallo Ed Kapitolyo


Lingayen --- The traditional Misa de Gallo Ed Kapitolyo will start Monday nextweek in keeping with the tradition of the Christmas season. 
The nine-day anticipated Misa de Gallo at the Capitol is traditionally held every afternoon at 5PM starting December 15 to 23 to accommodate other catholic devotees who religiously attend and complete the novena at the church.
A mass for Christmas (Nativity of the Lord) will also be held at the Capitol Plaza on December 24, 7PM.
Relative to this, the provincial government led by Governor Amado T. Espino, Jr. invites the public to take part in the “Simbang Gabi” in observance of the spiritual preparation for the birth of Our Savior, Jesus Christ. 
Governor Espino and Pangasinan First Lady Priscilla I. Espino will light the advent parol on the first Misa de Gallo.
The second day Misa de Gallo, on the other hand, will be highlighted with the mass celebrator’s prayer and blessing for Governor Espino and his wife, First Lady Priscilla on the occasion of their 40th wedding anniversary.
“Mula sa aking pamilya at sa buong pamahalaang panlalawigan, maliket tan magayagan Pasko, narang-ay nga baro a tawen kadakayo amin,” Governor Espino stated as yuletide greetings to Pangasinenses.
Chief Administrative Officer Irmina Francisco said the provincial government started this tradition since 2007 when Governor Espino assumed his office.

Meanwhile, a grand Christmas party was scheduled on December 19 at the Capitol Plaza after the Simbang Gabi as treat to the employees of the provincial government from various departments, offices and hospitals of the province.
A New Year’s Eve Mass is also scheduled at the Capitol Plaza on December 31, 7PM.
