BAYAMBANG, Pangasinan – The new imposing six-floor JKQ Medical and Wellness Center (JKQ Medical for brevity) is dubbed by its owner as the “lowest charging hospital in Pangasinan”.

Don’t be frightened by the presentation of this hospital. This is a hospital with a heart. Hindi po mahal ang aming sisingilin. Huwag ho kayong matakot sa ganda ng ospital! We have surveyed all the charges of all hospitals in the entire province of Pangasinan. I assure you, we will be at the level as the lowest charging hospital in Pangasinan,” declared by billionaire-businessman Cezar T. Quiambao in his speech that was met by thunderous applause from the more or less a thousand of crowd inside the fully airconditioned white marquee assembled near the medical center.

Quiambao said that he did not expect to build a hospital in his hometown’s Bayambang where he became a mayor for six years.

The present mayor Mary Claire Nina Jose - Quiambao is the spouse of the businessman - philantrophist.

I have built hospital in Guam, USA. I myself never thought it will be possible to do this right in my hometown. Maybe somewhere else in the big city but not in Bayambang but the stage happened here we are today,” he added.

The mammoth state-of-the-art JKQ Medical was constructed within three years after Quiambao’s son Julius met his untimely demise.

“My son’s dream is now a reality. Julius spirit lives all in this hospital. May this hospital be an instrument of life for many people as instrument of saving many lives”.

Another thrust of JKQ Medical is to lure foreign clients through medical wellness tourism as what other countries have been doing.

JKQ Medical stands on a two-hectare area that will be Northern Luzon’s newest and most comprehensive health care facility when it opened last Friday. It has a 100-bed capacity and enjoys a Level 2 general hospital status. Thus, it will rank among the modern and comprehensive hospitals in the nation’s capital that offer top-quality healthcare services using state-of-the art technology.

We have relatively affordable health care services, highly skilled medical professionals and a reputation for specialized treatment I believed this hospital is positioned to hover for this positive trend. May the opening of JKQ Medical and Wellness Center bring a new dawn for the health care in the province of Pangasinan,” Quimbao concluded his speech.

JKQ Medical is manned by a solid array of 600 personnel where there are 250 highly trained doctors who are general practitioners and specialists and 350 support medical staff who are nurses, healthcare specialists, hospital assistants, and others who are all ready to serve the people of the town, the province, and the region.

Guest of honor during the inauguration was Philippines First Lady Marie Louise "Liza" Araneta Marcos. Other guests are some provincial and national officials like Pangasinan Governor Ramon V. Guico, Vice Governor Mark Ronald Lambino, Department of Agrarian Reform Secretary Conrad Estrella, Philippines Health Insurance Corporation President and CEO Emmanuel R. Ledesma, Jr, Congressmen Mark O. Cojuangco and Ma. Rachell Arenas and high officials of the Department of Health.
