DAGUPAN CITY – Six of the seven councilors belonging to the majority bloc,
with one abstaining, unanimously passed on second and final readings in their
regular session on June 21 the city’s new zoning ordinance to complement the
Comprehensive Land Use Plan (CLUP) which they approved earlier on June 7.

The new zoning ordinance shall be the implementing arm of the city’s CLUP,

Since Mayor Belen T. Fernandez was at the helm, she set into motion steps that led to

Councilor Liberato "Karlos" Reyna IV expressed hope that with the approval of the revised zoning ordinance the city now has a chart or road map to guide its progress for the next 10 years.
Joining Reyna in passing the revised zoning ordinance were councilors Jesus D. Canto,
Jose Netu M. Tamayo, Alvin T. Coquia, Marvin V. Fabia and Marcelino Fernandez.
Councilor Maybelyn Fernandez was the acting vice mayor and presiding officer.
