Arenases Eyeing the Mayorship of 3 Towns in P'gasinan?

ARENAS' JUGGERNAUT:  Congresswoman Rosemarie "Baby" Arenas
(3rd District, Pangasinan) (3rd from Left) and daugher Rachel (,2nd from
Right) former solon of the district, and an unidentified companion.

Be Afraid to Stand Alone”, at “No Turning Back” .

According to a top town official who asked anonymity, the siblings of former 3rd Congressional District Rep. Rachel Arenas are not only eyeing the mayoralty of the municipalities of Malasiqui and Calasiao but the town of Sta. Barbara in the 2016 polls.
Grapevine says that the former solon’s younger brother Robert “Bing” Jimenez Arenas runs in Malasiqui versus the Poblacion Barangay Chairman Eric Brian Domantay, the son of graduating Mayor Armando Domantay, while Rachel eyes Calasiao versus reelectionist Mayor Mark Roy Macanlalay or come backing mayoralty bet Roy Macanlalay (the incumbent vice mayor) incase he will throw his hat in the derby if the younger Macanlalay runs in the vice governorship under self-declared gubernatorial candidate Mark Cojuangco.
In May 6 Cojuangco offered the Number 2 post to Macanlalay when the former graced the farmers’ day in Calasiao during the town’s fiesta celebration.
“Pero the plan of the Arenases to run for these towns’ posts will be in the backburner if somebody big challenges their mother or come backing congressional wannabe Rachel in the district,” the source told me.
“Whom do you think the most capable to challenge their hegemony in the congressional race? Would it be (San Carlos City Mayor) Ayoy (Resuello)?”  I posed.
“No, Ayoy will slide to run as vice mayor of his younger brother Bogs who will run on the mayoralty of the city. Ayoy wants to buttress through his presence the political stocks of his brother. San Carlos is huge, Ayoy will never leave it”.
He said the one who would give the Arenases a run of their monies will be Dangerous Drugs Board Secretary Antonio “Bebot” Villar, the former no nonsense mayor of Sto. Tomas town.
“Kuya Bebot’s Mother hailed from San Carlos City. He can make the place as his residence. He already told us he has a moist eye for the 3rd Congressional District,” he stressed.
But a veteran radio broadcaster brushed the Villar bogey's against the Arenases, he said it would be former 3rd District Congressman Generoso Tulugan who will make a comeback to reclaim his old post.

“Maraming pera daw si Gener. Bebot, the Macanlalays, and Sta. Barbara Mayor Lito Zaplan will surely help him for his bid.

  1. i don't get it. these Arenases aren't even certified residents of the said towns. may bahay ba si rachel sa calasiao? though i also hate the macanlalay's for being blatantly corrupt nagpapayaman lang sa pwesto. jusko wala na bang ibang matino?

  2. Hi Dan, it takes only one year residency in a town, city, or province for one to run for a political position in our country. It is embodied in the Local Government Code and the Constitution. Keep firin', man.
