LINGAYEN, Pangasinan - The provincial government of Pangasinan offered a fitting tribute to the heroes of World War II who fought valiantly and risked their lives in pursuit of freedom.
In a simple rite in January 9 that
commemorated the 80th Lingayen Gulf Landings and 18th Pangasinan Veterans Day
on January 9 at the Capitol Beach Park, GovernorRamon V. Guico III and Vice
Governor Mark de Guzman Lambino welcomed the war veterans along with their
families and special guests, notably Undersecretary Pablo Lorenzo, who
represented National Defense Secretary Gilbert Teodoro.
“This
day is more than just a moment of remembrance. It symbolizes the commitment,
dedication, and patriotism of our dear veterans, who fought so bravely for the
liberation of our country. The celebration forms an essential part of our
identity as Pangasinenses and Filipinos,” Gov. Guico said. (PIO)
