Manaoag Mayor Pinuri si Cong. Gina sa Overpass Bridge sa Church

MANAOAG, Pangasinan – Ikinagagalak ng alkalde dito ang pagpapaunlak ni Pangasinan 4^th District Cong. Gina V. de Venecia na i-lobby ang minimithing overpass bridge na kukunekta sa iconic na simbahan dito at sa bagong palengke na magpapasigla sa huli.

MULTIPLIER-EFFECT. Pangasinan 4^th District Cong. Gina V. de Venecia and Manaoag Mayor Jeremy “Ming” Rosario raise a thumbs up at the forefront of the illustrated overpass bridge that connects the Minor Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary of Manaoag and the new two- storey modern public market. The multi-million pesos’ bridge has been requested for the Congresswoman to lobby at the national government for funding. The materialization of the project would perk-up the products from the 44 towns and 4 cities’ Pangasinan being sold at the market as the pilgrims’ town has a continued influx of roughly eight million visitors a year – the biggest in the four provinces’ Region-1. 

Ang paglobby ni Cong. De Venecia ng pondo sa pamahalaang national para sa katuparan ng pangarap ni Mayor Jeremy “Ming” Rosario, MD dito ay hindi lang magpapalakas ng mga negosyo dito kundi maging multiplier effects sa mga produkto at serbisyo ng apatnapu't apat (44) na mga bayan at apat (4) na lungsod sa Pangasinan na makapag display ng mga binebenta nila.

“Hindi namin ipinagdadamot to my mayors – being the President (ng League of the Municipalities of the Philippines - Pangasinan Chapter). Manaoag is the best venue for promotion ng ating produkto from Pangasinan. Punta sila (bisita) dito hanap sila ng bagoong punta sila dito, hanap sila ng bangus the most dalhin dito. I will open the gate to other LGUs. Hindi lang product pati na iyong kanilang good spots, resorts na pwedeng puntahan maraming nagtatanong niyan dito,” ani ng two-term na alkalde.

Gustong masamantala ni Rosario ang halos walong milyong mga bisita at deboto na dumadagsa dito kada taon sa Minor Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary of Manaoag.

Noong sinabi ng writer na ito kay Mayor Rosario na “since time immemorial you’re the only mayor of this rustic town to exploit the surge of pilgrims and visitors here to convert them into revenues for the betterment of your small but first class town,” aniya:

“That inspires us also of (inaudible) that na naukit dahil alam mong mostly na majority na pumunta dito Filipino rin. Kung makakita ka diyan ng (male) foreigner, sundan mo ng kamay, ayon may kaholding hand ang foreigner sa Filipina! Na alam natin kung ano ang masarap dito, kung ano ang pwedeng iuwi, kung ano ang pwedeng pasalubong”.

Aniya, pinapalakas at pinapaganda nila ang bagong two-storey na palengke kung saan ito ay maayos, malinis, at organizado.

“With ample parking area para mahila namin dito ang almost eight million (visitors) a year na pumupunta dito,” sinabi niya.

Dagdag ni Mayor Ming na nagpapatayo na ngayon ng 40 rooms hotel ang Top Star Hotel kung saan ang may ari nito ay taga Cabanatuan City na merong tatlong Top Star Hotels na sa Luzon. Ang prestihiyosong The Manaoag Hotel dito ay merong 45-50 rooms.
