CALASIAO , Pangasinan – The regional office of the Bureau of Internal
Revenue here unveiled the marker and the tax campaign slogan’s “Salamat Sa
Iyo (Thank You)” and gears for the P2.03 trillion tax goal this year.
The event was simultaneously held with the bureau’s other regional
offices all over the country, according
to BIR Regional Director Clavelina S. Nacar.

She said that the BIR's brass acknowledged and appreciated the small and big
contribution of the taxpayers and the agency’s personnel who do the yeoman’s
job that sustain the growth of the country.
“Ang tax na bawat binabayaran
natin ito ay nagre-represent ng life blood ng ating gobyerno,” she stressed in Tagalog.
BIR Region-1 covers the four provinces of Pangasinan, La Union, Ilocos
Sur, and Ilocos Norte.
RDO-4 Chief Merlyn DV Vicente explained this year’s BIR theme’s “Salamat
Sa Iyo” as gratitude of the BIR to the taxpayers.
“Because we acknowledged the contribution of our taxpayers no matter
how small the amount is we acknowledged and we are thankful for it,” she cited.
RDO-4 based here is the biggest office in the region as it covers the burgeoning
cities of Dagupan and San Carlos and 14 towns in Central Pangasinan.

said that the event held here last Monday’s morning flag ceremony was a commitment
among the employees of the BIR to exert more effort to the thrust of the
government to collect this year P2.03 trillion, the P17 billion for the Region,
and P4.77 for RDO-4.
“This is a
thanksgiving for everyone part ng taxpayers and of course part ng employee sa
bureau kasi in the collection of the target dapat magku- commit”.
Director Nacar tasked the personnel of the Region and the RDO-4 to
pledge their commitment to efficiently attain the goal and promised to give
their competent services to the taxpayers.
“President Duterte wanted to stop corruption. Ayaw niya ng mahabang
pila. Lahat dapat right amount of taxes shall be given to the government,”
she exhorted.
The P2.03 trillion national tax goals is the
first amount after the Duterte Administration launches its tax reform’s Tax
Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion (TRAIN). Last year’s BIR target was P1.83
trillion.
