DAGUPAN CITY TO HOST IT-BPM INDUSTRY FORUM


DAGUPAN CITY – The Dagupan City Information and Communications Technology Council (DCICTC) will conduct an Information Technology Business Process Management (IT – BPM) Industry Forum with the city’s ICT stakeholders on May 30 at CSI Stadia here in line with the city’s ongoing industry study.
The DCICTC is currently working to prepare Dagupan City to acquire a significant share of the ICT industry and the forum will serve to bring together all the important stakeholders for the project and discuss with them how the council can work together so that it can achieve its goal.
Accordingly, the council aims to develop an IT-BPM industry in the the city so that it can benefit from the expected $25 billion revenue goal nationwide for 2016 alone.
ICT Officer Ryan D. Castañeda said that Jonathan De Luzurriaga, an incumbent trustee of the Information Technology Business Process Association of the Philippines (IBPAP) and president of the Philippine Software Industry Association (PSIA) will join the forum.
IBAP is the national enabling organization for the IT-BPM industry composed of 300-strong industry and support industry members.
The council is headed by Mayor Belen T. Fernandez as chairman of the Dagupan City ICT Council.
Dagupan was recently recognized as one of the top 10 next wave cities in the country or as one of the best locations for Information Technology and Business Process Management Industry next to Manila, Cebu, Clark and Bacolod City. (Joseph C. Bacani/CIO/May 25, 2016)
