PUBLIC ADVISORY #1
From Provincial Capitol PANGASINAN
According to PAGASA, Typhoon Lando will gain strength as it comes near Northern Luzon. At present, Pangasinan is under Storm Warning Signal No. 1 but we will continue to monitor this evening in case the warning signal is raised.
In a phone call from the Department of the Interior and Local Government, Secretary Mel Senen Sarmiento said Typhoon Lando is expected to dump heavy to intense rain with strong winds that will affect the Eastern and Northern seaboards of Luzon by tomorrow (Saturday).
May I call on my provincemates who are living in danger zones along coastal areas, riverbanks and mountain slopes for pre-emptive evacuation. As the water level of the Agno River is expected to reach alert level, residents along the Agno River must also take precautionary measures.
The Pangasinan Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management office has already issued a gale warning since 5 am on Wednesday. All our emergency response units are already on red alert.
To my provincemates, I urge you to keep yourself updated on the weather condition through broadcast and social media especially through the official Facebook of Pangasinan.
