Another 12 Alaminos' village chiefs Deserted Braganza

Two factions composed of 23 village chiefs in Alaminos City
unite recently at a gathering in a hotel-restaurant owned by
 Rep. Jesus Celeste in  Bolinao.

This was the pronouncement of the merger of the two groups of Alaminos City barangay captains dubbed as ‘Magdalo’ and ‘Magdiwang’. Magdalo which presently has 11 members and Magdiwang comprises of 12 village chieftains indicated their unification last February 7, 2013 at the El Pescador Resort in Bolinao. According to Salvador Camba, Chairman of Brgy. Bued, what really fueled the establishment of ‘Magdiwang’ was the negligence of the city government towards the village chieftains who perform their duties and responsibilities. Further, instead of consulting the leaders of respective villages, the city government choose to coordinate with the former barangay captains, he added. The group’s main goal is to deliver services to the constituents in a clean and respectful manner, he said. Meanwhile, Brgy. Capt. Eusebio Fronda Jr. of Brgy. Balidaan said that Magdalo was formed in 2007 mainly because of the Association of Barangay Captains (ABC) election. Further, he shared that the Mayor started to get furious towards them when some of them didn’t vote for a certain ABC candidate the leader of the City he was then supporting. Projects were started but remain unfinished, he described the Mayor’s leadership. Thus, he said, the group is still existing “dahil sa maling pamamalakad ng lider ng aming syudad.” The groups believe that together, they will be able to serve the people better. The event is said to be historic as it signifies strong foundation towards peaceful and progressive Alaminos City , they added.
