Ronnel de Vera, columnist and reporter of Sunday Report, has been charged by the principal of the Mangaldan National High School (MNHS) with libel and the Cyber Crime Laws for confederating and cooperating with three personnel of MNHS in imputing malicious charges and sowing dishonor to him.
Rosalino T. Agpalo said that Melissa D. De Guia, Priscilla G. Caberto,  and Salvador Emuslan circulated middle of this year in the compound of the MNHS the libelous and defamatory article titled “The Journey Is Over for the Fattest & Greediest Crocodile in Mangaldan”  printed on a coupon bond paper alluding to him a certain “Lolong (crocodile)”,  an educator with degrees in Ed. D and Ll.B. Agpalo cited that the respondents have committed several malicious and criminal acts against him that circulated in the papers by accusing him “ including, but not limited to, corruption, theft, bribery, malversation and illegal conversation  of funds, attempted rape, acts of lasciviousness, and usurpation of authority”.

He said that it was Caberto and Emuslan who circulated the poison articles written by De Guia while de Vera posted a copy of it at social network Face Book.
Agpalo said De Vera also published in his FaceBook account for the public to see an alleged vicious open letter purportedly addressed to the Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) Officer and the Department of Environment & National Resources in Dagupan City. In that online article the respondents again claimed that “Lolong” has committed “corruption by unlawfully cutting some trees at the mini forest of the school and bringing them to his house. Excerpts of that article in the vernacular:
“May 3 teachers nagsumbong sa DENR isang byernes (sic) ng umaga na ang Lolong nagputol ng kahoy sa pinalagong mini-forest, ng (sic) walang permit at inilabas ni Lolong isang mainit na gabi ng Mayo xxx xxx xxx”.

Who is this Chief of Police (COP) in Pangasinan who applied for retirement but still overstays in his post instead of going back to the Police Provincial Office in Lingayen?

Police officers told me the audacity of this police official to maximize his stays up to the day he retires.

“Baka nasasayangan doon sa S.O.P niya sa Meridian Jai-Alai na bigay ng operator,” one of them quipped.

A source in the underground economy's lending business told me that PO3 Domino Alipio, the killer of four public school teachers and wounding three in Pangasinan, has not only giving loans to teachers in several public schools in Pangasinan but financing vendors in the public markets in many towns of the mammoth province.

“Doon sa Calasiao, kahit stalls pina-parentahan niya. May office pa siya doon kung saan sa free time niya nag-babasa siya ng Bible”.

He said the amiable Alipio has been building a multi-million pesos multi-story condominium types building in Barangay Ambonao, Calasiao where he plans to lease them.

He said the jailed policeman got a lot of partners in his lending business who are officials of the Philippine National Police.

“Kung one million pesos ang ni-invest ng official, bibigyan niya ng particular percentage kada buwan iyong partner niya, habang iyong principal na one million pesos pinapaikot niya. Kung ayaw na ng official, kaya niyang ibalik iyong one million in a weekly tranche na tag P200,000”.

“Aside from reading the Bible, the other preoccupation of PO3 Alipo has been to read women’s legs,” my source said.

 He cited that PO3 Alipio is a lothario (mahilig sa babae).

Why Ruel Camba's Radio Program is No. 1 in P'gasinan

I relished rubbing elbows, especially with beers or whisky, with top radio commentator Ruel Camba (extreme right in the photo) - the former Joseph Goebbels of the Provincial Information Office under then Governor Victor Agbayani’s administration.

When I was a “moonlighting” (I was then a passionate political science professor) a gratis column writing jobs for Regional Examiner and Pangasinan News 20 years ago the first big time media guy who called my name “Mortz” when I bumped into him in the election of the rambunctious Pangasinan Press Club held at the Dagupan City Council's building I attended was the George Clooney's haired Ruel.

Gov. Espino Condemns Cop Killing of Mentors

The senseless shooting that took place at around 4pm today (Sept. 1) inside the Pangasinan National High School (PNHS) campus here in Lingayen, led to the instant death of three teachers, and serious injuries inflicted by the lone gunman upon 4 other teachers, one still in critical condition.

This is another case of violence that has no place in this otherwise peaceful province. It is even more sad and unfortunate that the gunman, who used a 45 cal. pistol, and who was also armed with an UZI automatic rifle and a hand grenade, is an active police officer of PNP Pangasinan. He was engaged in the business of extending 5/6 loans to teachers, at 10% monthly interest. .

This latest incidence of violence, underscores the growing deterioration of the peace and order situation in Pangasinan, and the apparent failure of the present system of installing Officers-in-charge, instead of full-time appointees, to the PNP Provincial command in Pangasinan. This highly irregular system, designed to bypass the required consultation with, and concurrence of, the Local Chief Executive has been going in Pangasinan for the last two years.

September: Declared as Tourism Month

Lingayen --- The official declaration of September as Pangasinan Tourism Month will provide the needed linchpin in promoting the tourism industry.

Thus, the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) approved Provincial Resolution No. 743-2014 declaring the month of September and every year thereafter as “Pangasinan Tourism Month” during its regular session on September 1.

Authored by Vice Governor Jose Ferdinand Z. Calimlim Jr., the resolution is in support of the observance of the World Tourism Day which is celebrated on the 27^th day of September as declared by the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) and the observance of the National Tourism Week every last week of the month of September as declared by Presidential Proclamation No. 894 dated October 3, 1996.

It is also in line with the provincial governments tourism development agenda.

This according to him, will help the aggressive efforts of Governor Amado T. Espino Jr. to promote Pangasinan as a choice tourist destination and a venue for conventions, conferences, sports activities and other national and international events.

Since 2009, Pangasinan has been celebrating the Tourism Month every September and this has been the avenue of the provincial government to instil consciousness among the people about the tourism industry, according to Tourism Operations Division Chief Maria Luisa A. Elduayan.

LINGAYEN, Pangasinan - Because of uncollected debt, a Pangasinan policeman shot to death with his .45 caliber pistol  last September 1 two teachers, two of his collectors, and wounding three others here.

In a spot report sent to Northern Watch, the Pangasinan Police Provincial Office (PPO) said that around 4 pm of September 1 Police Officer 3 Domino Alipio shot to death with his .45 caliber pistol Acedelio Sison, and Linda Sison all teachers  of the Pangasinan National High School (PNHS) here and two of his lending collectors Florendo Flores and Joselito Ulayan. Those who were wounded were Juliet Molano and Ferdinand Estamano who were rushed to the Community Hospital here, while Jovito Jimenez was rushed to Trauma Hospital  in nearby Dagupan  City.
RJ Jimenez, a broadcaster of Sonshine Radio, who was at the scene of the crime told this paper that Alipio went to PNHS to meet with some of the fatalities after the principal of the school arranged a meeting with the policeman.
"Kasi pinag te-text niya iyong nagka-utang sa kanya na ni threatened niya. Iyong mga teachers naman pina-blotter siya sa police".
Jimenez said that upon waiting for several minutes for the teachers he became impatient. When he roved around the school he saw Acedelio and Linda and immediately pumped bullets to each of them.
"Dumiretso siya doon sa mga teachers na nag-meeting sa isang classroom. Iyong mga teachers naman kanya-kanyang dapa sa ilalim ng lamesa nila habang pinapaputukan silang isa't isa ni Alipio. Noong sa ika walo na bala niya nag jammed iyong .45".
When Alipio was reloading another magazine for his gun outside the room, those teachers who were not hit scampered away from the room.
"Noong pauwi na si Alipio, nata-on naman na papasok iyong dalawang pulis sa nearby outposts. Nagkabarilan sila pero tumakbo si Alipio sa isang kuarto para magtago".
A source who asked anonymity said that Alipio and wife are into lending of money  to public school teachers where some of their partners are members of the Philippine National Police. He said Alipio was formerly assigned in Calasiao town before he was reassigned to Anda Police Station in Anda, Pangasinan,
