Odds Favor De Venecias to Support Guico’s Guv Bid Instead of Espino

AFTER LAMBINO CANCELS MOIST EYE FOR CONG. POST

DAGUPAN CITY – A political analyst opined that with the political family De Venecia headed by its matriarch former Congresswoman Gina “Manay’ de Venecia have not yet finalized their shift from Lakas -CMD  to Partido Demokratiko Pilipino–Lakas ng Bayan, odds favor them to desert the alliance from provincial powerhouse leads by former Governor Amado T. Espino, Jr. and supports Rep. Ramon “Mon-Mon” Guico’s gubernatorial bid instead.

Hindi pa pala pormal iyong PDP Laban’s district chairmanship ni Manay. (Congressman) Toff remains as Lakas member under GMA wing (former President Gloria Arroyo - Author). Lahat sila, Manay, JDV (former five-time Speaker Joe de Venecia) and Toff. Marami pang dapat ayusin. Magulo pa. Future move siguro nila iyan kasi asar sila kay (Raul) Lambino na bata ni GMA,’ a message sent recently by the close associate of the De Venecias to this writer.

Other photos from above to bottom are Pangasinan ‘s opposition group gubernatorial bet Fifth District Congressman Ramon ‘Mon-Mon” Guico, III and Pangasinan Governor Amado “Pogi” Espino, III.

In April 26, 2021 the associate, who asked not to be named, vehemently objected that the De Venecias would succumb to the
quid pro quo of Cagayan Economic Zone Authority (CEZA) and Presidential Adviser for Northern Luzon Secretary Lambino for the latter not to commission a kin but the former support Guico’s bid.

Malabo iyan. Loyal si Manay kay Espines (moniker of Amado Espino, Jr - Author). She is the District’s chair of the PDP (Partido Demokratiko Pilipino–Lakas ng Bayan) while Espino is the provincial boss of the PDP”.

The surprising announcement from the camp of the opposition in Pangasinan composed of Lambino-Congressman Guico- Bayambang Mayor Cezar Quiambao - Former Cong. Art Celeste – Former Cong. Mark Cojuangco ensued last dusk of April 25, 2021 when a source in the camp told this newspaper that it was the consensus that the young solon will challenge going last term Governor Espino in the popularity voting derby of the 1,822,637 million voters of the forty four towns and three cities’ gargantuan province.

As based on the April 19, 2021 data from the Commission on Election given to this writer, Pangasinan has 1,946, 564 or almost 2 million voters where independent component Dagupan City and not part of the local government of Pangasinan has 123, 927 voters.

It was agreed on that meeting in the abode of Secretary Lambino in Brgy. Buenlag, Mangaldan in Pangasinan that Guico's spouse Maan Tuazon-Guico tussles with come backing elder Espino or former Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) Chairman Cristino L. Naguiat, Jr. for the eight towns one city’s Fifth District, Art Celeste locks horn with the elder Espino in case the latter will run for the First District, former Fifth District Rep. Mark Cojuangco will unseat incumbent Second District Congressman Jumel Espino who is the son of the former governor.

The billionaire Cojuangco told the opposition in the central Pangasinan’s town meeting that he was already ready with his hundreds of millions of pesos campaign chest.

He inherited billions of pesos from his father Eduardo Murphy Cojuangco Jr., the former chairman and CEO of San Miguel Corporation, who died early this year.

According to a source in that meeting, the Espinos would be in a real fight. The Celestes are prepared with their monies in the First District, the Guicos have their wherewithal ready against the older Espino regaining his congressional seat, Guico III will be shored up by the group who will chip-in tens of millions of pesos to square off with Governor Pogi Espino.

That strategy of Guico duking out with the present governor is to prevent the monies of the Espino for the governorship flowing unabated to the districts like in the First, Second, and Fifth where the opposition have candidates to boot.

Even loyalty to the party says the De Venecias even if they are a card carrying member of the PDP still is not an assurance that they will support the reelection of Governor Pogi Espino, III. Party loyalty is nothing compared to the hundreds of millions of pesos Congressman Toff de Venecia spends in beating Melanie Lambino,” the source, who asked for anonymity, explained.

Among the six congressional districts in the province, the Fourth Congressional District has the smallest number of voters because Dagupan City is an independent component city and does not join the election of elective leaders of Pangasinan.

The district has a measly 190, 067 from the total 313, 994 registered voters (Comelec April 19, 2021 data) of the four towns and one city’s voters after deducting the 123, 927 voters of Dagupan.

The four towns and their respective numbers of voters are the following:

Mangaldan: 63, 242; San Fabian: 55, 152; Manaoag: 44, 862 and; San Jacinto: 26, 811.

Lambino is a lawyer and the daughter -in-law of Raul Lambino. Melanie’s husband is Vice Governor Mark Lambino the groomed vice governorship tandem of Guico in the May 9, 2022 election as what agreed in that Mangaldan’s meeting.

Insiders said the older Lambino will remain with his powerful offices especially that Sarah Duterte, who leads presidential polls, is seen as the heir apparent of her father exiting president Rodrigo Duterte and Lambino’s patron.

If the powerful Secretary makes true to his promise and not use it as deception to avoid the trolls that spew the scathing, scurrilous, and vilest attacks against him and his family with regularity, the other stakeholders who will lose the financial benefit of this supposed parley of disengagement between two big moneyed families are the voters, leaders, and those media men and women commissioned to do propaganda with their benefactors.
