CITY VILLAGES CLUSTERED INTO 6 GROUPS FOR GILON-GILON


DAGUPAN CITY - Six contingents will compete in the Gilon Gilon ed Baley Street Dancing Competition during the grand opening of the Dagupan Bangus Festival 2016  on April 8.
Movie heartthrob Alden Richards will grace on April 8 the Bangus Festival in Dagupan City. 
The contingents will come from the 31 barangays which were clustered into six groups.
Cluster 1 includes Barangays I, II and III, IV, Poblacion Oeste with Tapuac as the leader; Cluster 2 is composed of Barangays Calmay, Carael, Lomboy, Pugaro, Salapingao with Pantal as the leader; Cluster 3 includes Barangays Lasip Chico, Lasip Grande, Malued, Pogo Grande with Lucao as leader.
Cluster 4 is composed of Barangays Bacayao Norte, Bacayao Sur, Herrero-Perez, Mayombo with Caranglaan as the leader; Cluster 5 is composed of Barangays Pogo Chico, Bonuan Binloc, Bonuan Gueset with Bonuan Boquig as the leader; and Cluster 6 is composed of Barangays Tambac, Mamalingling, Salisay, Mangin, Bolosan with Tebeng as leader.
All members of each contingent must be residents of Dagupan except for students/laborers who are not from the city but are studying and working in Dagupan provided that they have been staying here for the last six months prior to the contest.
The composition of each contingent must be from a minimum of 100 and a maximum of 120 dancers; a minimum of 40 and a maximum of 50 props men and instrumentalists who must be in their respective costumes consistent with their themes 
Prizes and the coveted Gilon Gilon ed Baley Championship trophy will be awarded to the top winner that will have the right to represent the Dagupan Bangus Festival in the Festivals of the North on April 15.
The champion will receive a cash prize of P150,000; while  the first runner up will get  P100,000,  and the 2nd runner up, P80,000.
The contingent chosen as Best in Street Dancing will receive P20,000; Best in Costume, P20,000;  Best in Props,  P20,000; and Best in Showdown, P10,000.
Consolation prize for non-winning contingent is P30,000 each.
Judging will be done in two phases during the competition, the mobile presentation which comprises 30 percent and the focal presentation, which is 70 percent.
The mobile presentation will be done in the designated parade route where each contingents will perform for a maximum of two minutes; and the focal presentation will be done at the city plaza where each contingent will perform for five minutes minimum and eight minutes maximum.
Violations of the rules will mean a 10-point deduction from the total score of the contingent concerned.
In the mobile presentation, each contingent will be judged according to their performance, choreography, energy level and discipline; while in the focal presentation each contingent will be judged based on their over-all performance, choreography, costumes and props and musicality.

                                            ALDEN RICHARDS TO GRACE THE OPENING CEREMONY

Mayor Belen T. Fernandez, overall chairman of Bangus Festival 2016, disclosed that GMA’s "pambansang babe" Alden Richards will grace the opening ceremony of the 2016 Bangus Festival on April 8.
“I would like to inform everyone that Alden Richards will be with us during the opening ceremony of the Bangus Festival 2016”, said Fernandez.
At the same time, some,  300 containers with five gallons of water each will be provided during the parade with 10 groups of force multipliers and the Latter Day Saints volunteers slated  to help the police, Public Order and Safety Office (POSO), City Health Office and City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office in looking after the safety, welfare and order during the opening ceremony.
Parade routes will be closed to traffic starting 12:00 noon, thus transportation will be detoured. (Joseph C. Bacani/CIO/March 9, 2016)
