New Region 1 NIA Boss Preps New Projects
By Mortz C. Ortigoza
URDANETA CITY –The new regional manager of the National Irrigation Administration (NIA) here has been priming- up his programs and projects after he was reinstated to his post a month ago.
“Provide tayo ng mas magandang serbisyo sa mga farmers, magkaroon ng closer na relationship between farmers and NIA, bantayan natin iyong implementation ng mga projects para mas maganda ang quality upang mas tumagal ang trabaho, lahat dito maging aktibo at sama-sama tayong mag-monitor ng mga projects,” he stressed.
After the recent reshuffle of the regional managers of the irrigation bureau all over the country, Celeste said another national reshuffle looms among provincial NIA managers.
“Hintayin ninyo na lang ang order ng Manila. Meron ng pahiwatig na, after reshuffle ng regional managers, provincial managers na ang susunod. Tingnan natin dito”.
Celeste said his regional office has been appropriated with P888 next year in the General Appropriation Act. The allocation, he said, included special projects that would be funded by JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency), small water reservoir, and special projects.
He cited the Agno River Integrated Irrigation Project, a separate entity, is not included next year in his almost a billion of pesos budget.
