SAN FABIAN, Pangasinan — This first class town is implementing a medical assistance system that will make cash strapped residents here worry-free. Mayor Constante Agbayani said recently that the local government will help the people in their medical needs, especially when hospitalization is required.
The system will include the use of the city-owned ambulance, processing of medical documents for free, and financial assistance. The ambulance, he said, will be used to carry patients to the Region 1 Medical Center and to a government hospital in Agoo, La Union. Families of patients will also be eased of the burden of processing of medical documents, as these will be done by the local government for free. "Having a sick family member is a heavy burden already, thus the local government's effort to help them in whatever way possible," he stressed. Agbayani added that he will also extend financial help to patients even if they are already discharged from the hospital to help them while they recuperate.
