DAGUPAN CITY - The new batch of Manlingkor ya Kalangweran to take their oath of office during the Agew na Dagupan on June 20 are now undergoing leadership training at West Central Elementary School Belen T. Fernandez Hall starting June 10 to 16.
These are at least 52 students from the different public and private secondary schools in the city.
In her message, Mayor Belen T. Fernandez reminded the young leaders that not everyone is given the chance to lead and went on to stress that "much is expected of you".
“That is why it is important that you have to know and learn that leading any organization requires incredible patience and strength. And if there’s just one piece of advice that I can give you, it is this: Stay true to this mightiest word in order to succeed: BELIEVE and it will happen, “the mayor said.
"Our work, our actions, our thoughts should be our novel effort to bring hope and inspiration so that we become positive role models to other young people in Dagupan,” Fernandez continued.
Ten of these young leaders will again be travelling with Fernandez to Milpitas, California upon the invitation of Mayor Jose Esteves, a native of Dagupan.
The leadership training is being undertaken by the Department of Education under Program Supervisor Dr. Liezl S. Cancino, Augosto Mejia, Cristina Aquino, Catherine Cornel, Markconi Taroma and Mary Ann Macaraeg. (Joseph C. Bacani/CIO)
