Mangaldan Mayor Distributes Wheelchairs

 MANGALDAN, Pangasinan – Because of her administration policy to give priority to persons with disabilities (PWDs), the lady mayor here distributed recently seven wheelchairs to the underprivileged PWDs.

It was held recently at the Conference Room of the Presidencia de Mangaldan graced by Mayor Bona Fe D. Parayno herself in coordination with the Persons with Disability Affairs Office (PDAO) which is under the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO).

The beneficiaries hailed from the villages of Amansabina, Osiem, Guilig, Gueguesangen, and Palua.

Mayor Parayno said that those PWDs who need free wheelchairs, walkers, and canes can submit their request at the Office of the Mayor from Monday to Friday at 8 AM to 5 PM by meeting the following requirements:

- Request letter address to Mayor Bona Fe De Vera-Parayno

- Certificate of Indigency of the PWD or senior citizen

- Picture of the PWD/ Senior Citizen

First Lady Leads Mammoth Medical, Social Services in Bayambang

BAYAMBANG, Pangasinan – A mammoth consultation and distribution of medical, legal, and social services from various government offices ensued recently here led by the First Lady of the Republic of the Philippines.

First Lady Louise Araneta-Marcos spearheaded the “LAB for ALL” held at the Pavillion-1 of the Sain Vincent Ferrer Prayer Park last February 6.

The LAB for ALL Project, which stands for “Laboratoryo, Konsulta at Gamot Para sa Lahat”, was initiated by the First Lady in partnership with the local government units, other national government agencies, and private partners to provide health care services to the vulnerable and disadvantaged members of the population.

The Kadiwa is an LGU-operated initiative.

SENATE President Chiz Escudero nixes the exhortation of a Constitutional lawyer for the Senate members to transform themselves immediately as judges after the House of Representatives sent the Article of Impeachment at the Upper House on February 5.

“Parang hindi niya nabasa ang Saligang Batas. Walang sinabing “immediately” ang Saligang Batas. Ang sinabi ng Saligang Batas: “ay “shall forthwith proceed with trial”.

He rebutted the lawyer by disclosing that ‘forthwith” was not “immediately” by citing an example on how the late Chief Justice Renato Corona was tried through impeachment by the Upper House.

The meaning of "forthwith" (an adjective) based on the online dictionary seems to have the same meaning, susmariosep!, with "immediately". It says "especially in official use) immediately; without delay".

Example: "We undertake to pay forthwith the money required".

URDANETA CITY, Pangasinan – Dahil sa mala tukong pagkapit ng alkalde at bise alkalde na lisanin ang mga pwesto nila dito, nagbabala ang Department of Interior & Local Government (DILG) sa dalawang pinakamataas na mambabatas dito na gampanan na ang tungkulin ng mayor at vice mayor kung hindi sila naman ang makakasuhan.

Sa Memorandum ni Atty. Romeo P. Benitez, Undersecretary for External, Legal and Legislative Affair, isinautos nito kay DILG Region 1 Director Jonathan M. Leusen Jr. na mag coordinate siya sa pamunuan ng Philippines National Police (PNP) “in ensuring the peaceful assumption of office of the Acting Mayor and Acting Vice Mayor of Urdaneta City” para palitan pansamantala ng isang taon si suspendidong Mayor Julio “Rammy” Parayno III at Vice Mayor Jimmy Parayno.

The visionary Five-Time House Speaker Jose Claveria de Venecia Jr. He is affectionately called by friends as JDV or Speaker Joe.

 But what about the visionary Jose Claveria de Venecia Jr. (aka JDV or Speaker Joe)? He might not be a household name in the same breath as those legends, but his legacy is undeniable, and his contributions have reverberated both locally and globally.
