Dagupan city jail awarded seal of SPB

DAGUPAN CITY – The Dagupan City Jail – Male Dormitory was conferred the Seal of Sustinidong Paglilinis ng Bilangguan (SPB) by the Bureau of Jail and Management Penology Chief Jail Director Serafin P. Barretto Jr. in a ceremony inside the jail on March 27.

 

The award, which was inscribed in the building, was jointly unveiled by Barretto and Mayor Belen T. Fernandez in the presence of other BJMP officials from the region and the province of Pangasinan.

 

The seal of SPB is in recognition of the Dagupan City Jail – Male Dormitory’s efforts in maintaining and sustaining a clean jail facility, which is free from corruption, illegal drugs and other contrabands under the stewardship of Jail Superintendent Kenneth A. Bid-ing, the city’s jail warden.

 

“We give our highest commendation to the men and women of the Dagupan City Jail under the very able leadership of Jail Superintendent Bid-ing for earning the Seal of Sustinidong Paglilinis ng Bilangguan from the Bureau of Jail and Management Penology hierarchy. Our city is truly blessed with awards which keep on coming like the two Seals of Good Local Governance we received for two consecutive years now,” said Fernandez.

CALASIAO - A former  vice mayor here who mysteriously resigned from his post last December  was found dead inside his room stoking rumors that he committed suicide.
Police in this thriving town said that last April 1 at eight in the morning they responded to the call of the kin of former Vice Mayor Ferdinand Gregorio Galang, 44, married, in Barangay Mancup who they found lifeless in his room.

According to this town's chief of police Superintendent Charlie D. Umayam the cadaver was discovered by Jun Gregorio, uncle of Galang, inside his room lifeless and kneeling facing downward with blood oozing from his mouth and nose.

I just learned that many congressmen in the Philippines are Korean.

Ombudsman should look on this so these lawmakers could be sued because of their “citizenship” and dismiss them from office.

As you know, just like the president and those senators, a congressman should be natural born when he filled his certificate of candidacy.

Two private contractors who make public roads, bridges, and buildings told me the same story every time they asked the solons (tongressmen) to sign the approval of the projects in their district:

Different opinions permeate the air nowadays on the legality and illegality of the plan of President Rodrigo Duterte to postpone anew the October 23, 2017 election. But this time all barangay (village) officials would be appointed by the president through a committee.

Mangaldan CLUP hurdles first review by prov’l dads

MANGALDAN – The mayor of this bustling town said that the already approved Comprehensive Land Use Plan (CLUP) had just undergone its first review last Friday at the Sangguninang Panlalawigan (provincial board) before becoming a law.

“We just have our first hearing of our CLUP at the provincial board,” cited by Mayor Bona Fe D. Parayno after she was told that Congressman Christopher de Venecia called the four mayors of the Fourth District to emulate Dagupan City whose CLUP awaits approval at the National Housing and Land Use Regulatory Board.

Milagros Padilla, chief of the Municipal Development, Planning, & Coordination, furnished Northern Watch the document that shows the then proposed CLUP 2016-2026 had its public hearing last February 10, 2017 at the Macario Ydia Development Center (MYDC).  The hearing was led by members of the Committee on Zoning Ordinance of this town Sangguniang Bayan (legislative council) chaired by Councilor Arnel Y. DepEd should look on these excessive bills on graduates

As graduation nears in the public schools, some if not many poor parents of those students who will graduate or move up in Grade 6, Junior and Senior High Schools complained of the graduation fees that run to hundreds of pesos.

Reports that come to my radio program say that P900, P725, and P500 have been exacted by school principals and teachers in high school, elementary and day care.

“Bakit pati sa day care may P500, e iyong city mayor ng Dagupan subsidized already the barangay captains on that?” posed to me by a mother who has a son who would be graduating at the City High School.

Another parent Patrick Jurado complained that his child was asked by his Grade 6 teacher at West Central School in Dagupan City to pay six hundred pesos. Other parents I was told coughed up seven hundred twenty pesos in the same grade.

Here’s Department of Education Secretary Leonor Briones through Department Order No. 8 series 2017 on the “No Collection Policy” and “Austerity Program” of the Department on the graduates in elementary, junior and senior high schools in public schools.

“In line with the government’s AUSTERITY (emphasis mine) program, graduation rite should be SIMPLE but meaningful which encourage civil rights, a sense of community and personal responsibility.”
