BAGUIO CITY – The top executive of the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) in this Summer Capital of the country looks for the approval of the revision of the zonal valuation (Z.V) to help achieve the P4.7 billion goal to collect this year.

The new Revenue District Officer of the Bureau of Internal Revenue- Cordillera Administrative Region Merlyn Vicente pays a courtesy visit to Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong.
The Mayor warmly welcomes RDO No. 008 Chief Vicente in the city and assures her that he will continue to support the programs of the tax agency.

RDO Vicente also pays a visit to the city’s Local Finance Committee members to make her aware of the alignment of projects and programs of the Summer Capital of the country.

“We just conducted recently the fourth revision of our zonal valuation,” Revenue District Office No. 008 Chief Merlyn DV Vicente told Northern Watch Newspaper.

She will be submitting to the regional office the final revision and approval of the Z.V this month.

RDO No. 008 according to Vicente has 32 Examiners that help her and her assistant RDO-Chief do the yeoman’s job of collecting the almost P5 billion target for the national government.

She said that tourism - the main industry here – is slowly reinvigorating to the pre Corona Virus Disease-19 level at the benefit of the city.

During the rampage of the COVID-19, this highly urbanized city suffered extensively from the scourge of the pandemic as she depended heavily on the influx of tourists.

Before being whisked up as the top executive of the 129 villages’ city in March this year, Vicente became the RDO Chief of eastern and central Pangasinan, Zamboanga City and Bataan.
