Newsman Forgot he Duped Mayor, Joined the Huddle

By Mortz C. Ortigoza

A reporter who was notorious swindling newspaper clients and other people had duped too a former mayor who was feared in his town.
In a huddle with the former mayor, the media man sneaked, shook the hand of the mayor, and joined the conversation.
His action was “a spur of the moment” after seeing the former chief executive whom he swindled countless of years ago had high spirited exchanged of notes with us since we did not meet him for several years, too.

Thanks to the elephant memory of the mayor he suddenly confronted the malefactor and narrated to him about the agreement and the payment he gave.
Hindi mo na binalik iyong mga photos mo sa isang event ko. Binayaran ko sa iyo iyon natandaan ko pa pati pagpa – frame mo kasi sabi  mo mas maganda,”

The reporter was startled. He could not immediately make an alibi.
“Sabi ko na naman pare sa  dami daming  puweding lokohin si mayor pa pinataos mo,” I butted in.

The media man, who got a back chill, profusely apologized to the hizzoner.
“Of several unsolved murders during the stint of the chief executive this scribe was lucky a bullet of a .45 caliber was not pumped into his head,” I told some media men there about the mayor being considerate about the shenanigan of our colleague.

This guy had been in a slammer for an estafa or swindling case.

Our front yard, same with other front and back yards, in Dagupan City used to be flood free. When the Department of Public Works & Highway DPWH elevated the nearby highway so they could be flood free too, we are flooded like this one. Whenever downpour comes The natural egress of water have been blocked by the elevated concrete. Pati toilet bowl namin sa ilalim overflowed with water. This misery started last July 2018.
Thus, I agreed with Engineer Freddy N. Olores (whom I did not meet yet) post at Facebook I read at the board at FB of the illustrious sons of Dagupan City.
He said: “It is cheaper and less hassle to build dikes around the city and installing flood gates on every outlet of drainage to the mouth of the river and installing pumping stations to pump out flood waters or rain waters rather than raising the concrete roads and drainage of Dagupan".
