Candidates nag Peace Covenant sa Mangaldan, Sual, San Fabian

SUAL – Nagsamasama ang mga magkatunggaling kandidato sa bayan na ito, San Fabian, at Mangaldan para ipakita sa publiko na sila ay tutupad sa hangarin na nakasaad sa Covenant of Peace 2019 Mid Term Election ng Commission of Election.

Isa dito ay “refusal to be part of vote buying, election violence, and any manner of corruption".
Sa isang pagtitipon noong March 19 ay nagsamasama sa St. Peter the Martyr Parish Church sa first class town na ito si Sual municipal candidate John Arcinue, vice mayoral candidate Roberto Arcinue, ang complete ticket nila sa Sangguniang Bayan (SB) (Legislative Body) at daan-daan nilang supporters na nakaupo sa loob ng isang bahagi ng simbahan at sa kabila naman ay ang katungali nilang si Liseldo “Dong” Calugay at ilan sa mga kandidato nito sa SB.

“Iilan lang sila na nandoon. Hindi pa dumating ang vice mayor nila,” ani Mayor Roberto Arcinue  sa kakaunting supporters ni Calugay na nasa loob ng simbahan at ang nakapagtatakang hindi pag dating ng vice mayoral candidate niya na si Donel Caburao.

Sa Mangaldan naman nakitang nagbeso si mayoral challenger Marilyn Lambino kay reelective Mayor Bonafe D. Parayno matapos silang pumirma sa Peace Covenant kasama ang kanilang slate. Nakita rin ang dalawa na nag uusap sa harap ng pari sa loob ng St Thomas Aquinas Parish Church noong March 16.

Ang tumatakbong kandidato sa ilalim ng PDP-Laban Party ni Parayno ay sila reelective Vice Mayor Pedro “Jojo” Surdilla Jr.. Sa kampo naman ng Nationalist People’s Coalition ni Lambino sa pagka vice mayor ay si former Vice Mayor Manny Casupang.
Sa pusisyon ng Sangguniang Bayan sa ilalim ng ticket ni Parayno ang mga tumatakbo ay sila re-elective councilors Baby Abalos, lawyer Joseph Cera, Jojo Quinto, Aldrin Soriano, lawyer Johnny Cabrera, Bernabe Cervas, Arnel Fabia, at former League of Barangays President Juvy Frialde.
Mga SB candidates naman sa ilalim ng Lambino slate ay sina  Bong de Vera, former councilor Joel Meneses, Boy Cayabyab, Christopher Romero, Mabel Bautista, Magda Villanueva, Rodolfo Elcano, at Mario de la Cruz.

Sa kabilang first class town ng San Fabian ay makikita sa larawan na ni post sa Facebook ay masayang nagkamay sila reelective and last term Mayor Constante “Danny” Agbayani at ang kanyang katungali at ninong na si former mayor Mojamito Libunao. Tinalo ni Agbayani si Libunao noong  2016 mayoral election.

Naglaban din si Agbayani at si Irene Libunao, asawa ng dating alkalde, noong 2013 mayoral election at kanya itong tinalo sa isang landslide votes. Tinalo ni Agbayani si former mayor Libunao ng 24,383 votes versus 12,588  votes o  66% versus 34% noong 2016 poll.

 Ang ibang minimithi ng Covenant of Peace ayon sa kanilang pledge ay “to elevate the level of maturity of the Filipino electorate by holding candidates to a law-abiding campaign based on the issues and not on personal attacks, and; To support the genuine and laudable effects of the winners for the benefit of the nation and good of all Filipinos.
