The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in Region 1 recognized Dagupan City anew as the number one Most Competitive City in the region during the 3rd Cities and Municipalities Competitive Index (CMCI) awards ceremonies held at CSI Stadia on November 10.
DAGUPAN HAULS AWARDS AS MOST COMPETITIVE CITY – Dagupan City has been recognized anew by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in the region as the most competitive city in Region 1, number one in Infrastructure, government efficiency and economic dynamism. |
The city was also recognized by the agency as the number one among the nine component cities in the region in the infrastructure category, government efficiency, and economic dynamism.
DTI Region 1 Director Florante O. Leal disclosed that the CMCI is a program being undertaken by the agency to recognize top performing Local Government Units on the initiatives they are doing to improve their services of doing business in their areas.
Leal said that the competitive index is very important to businessmen who depend on how ready an LGU is to accommodate and welcomed new businesses
He applauded Fernandez for hauling most of the awards this year and he is not surprised “because the necessary ingredients are already in place in the city with the kind of support provided by the LGU leadership,” Leal said.
Fernandez said Dagupan is on the crossroads of new and exciting developments “and everyone has a moist eye for what a bold and ambitious urban economy like ours can further offer to all sectors, investors included. Since our participation with this program, we have since then fully appreciated and embraced productivity as a crucial element in our goals in local governance,” she disclosed. (Joseph C.
