CHO IS GIVING FREE VACCINES TO PUBLIC SCHOOL PUPILS IN DAGUPAN

The City Health Office (CHO) under the Alagang Balon Dagupan of Mayor Belen T. Fernandez is now making rounds in all the public schools in connection with its School Based Immunization (SBI) program for grades one and four pupils.

CHO doctors and nurses led by City Health Officer Dr. Ophelia T. Rivera had been to nine schools since August 1 where they administered free tetanus-diphtheria and measles-rubella vaccines to grade one pupils and free human papillomavirus vaccine (HPV) to grade four pupils (girls).

HPV prevents cervical cancer to women and costs P2,850 to P3,000 if availed of in private hospitals.

Fernandez is encouraging all parents to have their children undergo vaccination which is being given free by the city.

“Sana pabakunahan natin ang ating mga anak para sila ay malayo sa sakit at manatili silang malusog sa lahat ng panahon,” said Fernandez.

Rivera disclosed that the SBI will be conducted by the CHO for the whole month of August until all pupils in all public schools here are given the vaccines. (Joseph C. Bacani/CIO/Aug. 3, 2017)
