Women’s Month


SAN CARLOS CITY. Celebration of Women’s Month 2013 in this city begins on March 8 with a parade around major streets at 7:00 A.M., followed by the opening program at the city gym.
The parade will be participated in by women groups in the city, LGU officials be they male, and business groups. Women’s Month celebration is spearheaded by the Local Council for Women headed by Ms. Suzanne D. Resuello, wife of Mayor Julier C. Resuello. Officers and members of the LCW are representatives from different agencies/organizations. Opening program whose theme is “Kababaihan: GabaysaPagtahaksaTuwidnaDaan” will have as Guest of Honor & Speaker, Ms. Aubrey Tan Zubiri, columnist at the Philippine Daily Inquirer.
 Messages will be delivered by Mayor JulierResuello and Vice Mayor JoseresResuello.
 Three p.m. on the opening day is Search for Mrs. Buntis 2013 at the city gym. Criteria in judging are: 1) non high risk with normal BP; 2) at least 5 months pregnant on the date of contest proper; 3) has received at least 1 tetanus toxoid as per pre-natal medical record; 4) had at least 3 pre-natal check-up as certified; 5) with beauty, talent, pleasing personality; 6) willing to practice for the pageant.Percentages of criteria are: 1) beauty (25%); 2) grace/poise (25%); 3) talent (20%); 4) intelligence (20%); 5) audience impact (10%).A part of the pageant is the question and answer portion for the 5 finalists among 12 contestants. Mrs. Buntis 2013 will receive a cash prize of Php 8,000.00; 1st runner-up Php 5,000.00; 2nd runner-up Php 3,000.00. All contestants will receive Php 1,000.00 each, and a pillow/blanket set. March 12, at 7:00 A.M., is blood letting with theme “Dugo Mo, BuhayKo” at the city gym. March 22 from 8:00 A.M.- 4:00 P.M., the City Health Office will conduct free dental check-up to first 1,000 walk-in patients. Sitesare 2 barangays (Caingal, Bolosan). Such dental patients will receive free toothbrush and toothpaste. Two p.m. is a lecture on Prevention and Control of AIDS/HIV, sexually-transmitted diseases, and reproductive infections. Main lecturer is is Dr. Rico Reyes, consultant at the Region I Medical Center. Venue of the lecture is Bulwagan at city hall.( CIO )
