Will they fix the Pacquiao - Broner Tiff for a Mayweather Rematch?

Remember the seemingly stage Pacquiao vs Matthysse Match

After watching the predictions of boxing luminaries like Sugar Ray Leonard, Tim Bradley, Vasyl Lomachengko, Teddy Atlas, Andre Ward, Danny Garcia, Shawn Porter, and others  at the Elixir of Life in You Tube on the Manny Pacquiao – Adrien Broner tiff on January 19 (20 in the Philippines) for the World Boxing Association’s Welterweight Crown I could only shake my head.

Many were wowed by the reinvigorated knock - out power of Manny as seen on his dominance with Argentinian Lucas Martin Matthysse last July 15, 2018.

I wondered why no one among these folks say that the knockdowns and technical knocked out (TKO) of Manny against Lucas was due to a seemingly rigged match as preparation for his another hundreds of millions of dollars fight with the iconic Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Salamabit, they just sparred on that match. Matthysse’s ferociousness as seen on his figths with Danny Garcia, Viktol Postol, and the hard hitting Ruslan Provodnikov was absent.

He contented himself to hit and run from Pacquiao who was rushed in the Cardinal Santos Hospital because of a heart ailment days before their match.

The champ publicist Aquiles Zonio wrote at Philboxing.com that Manny was whisked off to the hospital seven days before the match in Malaysia because he complained of difficulty in breathing in various occasions.

As the duo maneuvered to hit each other in the third round, a short left upper cut, I called .45, landed on the lower jaw of the Argentinian from Manny.

He took a knee on that slow punch, son of a gun, and was counted where the three judges gave Manny the winning 10-8 score.

That’s crucial because a 10-8 means Pacquiao won already two rounds in the total computation of the cards of the judges.

At the fourth round, Matthysee hit Manny’s bread basket with a one-two hook combinations.

 “That’s kid gloves sparring session treatment,” I quipped.

Matthysse kept hitting Pacquiao’s gloves that he used to guard his face.

“Were they intentional so the match would look there were a lot of activities?” I posed.

After unleashing two right jabs, the third right jab Jesus Christ grazed the right left temple of the Argentinian.

 “It was a missed shot but he took a knee again at the canvas!” I exclaimed.

Another 10-8 score!

At the seventh round, another left upper cut made Matthysse knelled again on the dais and the referee called it a off because of that death knell.

Everybody at Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur including the gullible commentators and the party of Pacquiao that included Filipino congressmen jumped with ecstasy, some of them were seen hugging profusely the Filipino superman with his miraculously regained knocked out power.

People around the world thereafter talked about the new explosiveness of the Filipino in a boring match that was not of Matthysee’s vintage as seen on his tiffs with those boxers I mentioned earlier.

Many fans lionized Pacquiao again. The camps of Mayweather and Pacquiao have been frenetic about their rematch that many fans who bought the expensive gate tickets that fetch up to $7,500 and the hefty $99.95 pay per view that sold 4.4 million viewers around the world in the first fight swore not too watch again because it was a bore and they felt robbed.

It even resulted to civil suits against Pacquiao weeks later when he said that he was not ready in that fight because of his old right shoulder injury, my foot!

Paying fans who spent times arranging for their commercial jets and expensive hotels in Las Vegas felt robbed at MGM Grand in Grand Garden Arena because of that alibi from  Manny.

Whining was not new to the Filipino senator as he did it when he settle for a draw with Manuel Marquez who kept hitting him with those lethal counter punches despite the three knocked downs he gave the Mexican.

His alibi then was the blisters brought by a wrong pair of socks affected his performances.
 What?! A sock could change the prowess of a pug?

A disappointed Mayweather even refuted Pacquiao on their post fight press conference that he came too in that fight with injuries on various parts of his body but he did not complain because he should show his fighting heart before the eyes of the paying fans as expected of a champion.

Let’s talk about Andrien Broner here:

Broner moves and punches, althought inferior in class, like Mayweather.

 Since he is not as elusive than Mayweather that will make Pacquiao hit the air, the foot and hand speed of the Filipino will be too much for him.

Can Manny knock-out Broner who did not experience  a K.O because of his strong whisker?

Forget about the Matthysse’s questionable TKO by the Filipino, Pacquiao’s last knocked out of an opponent was in 2009 on Miguel Cotto. Thereafter, Father Time took that money punch K.O power that made us content seeing him winning by decisions with opponents like Antonio Margarito, Shane Mosley, Timothy Bradley, and Jesse Vargas.

If they rig the fight with a knocked out to make the Mayweather-Pacquaio rematch more palatable for the gullible around the world to buy the hefty pay per view, I would not be surprised.

Boxing, as you know, is one of the big time betting games in the United States.

One of the rigged matches being investigated by authorities in the U.S was when defending Heavyweight champion Bruce Seldon took a dive twice, geez, in September 7, 1996 to the canvas from a phantom and light punches in the first round and “played possum” so Mike Tyson won that championship fight and be ready to fight Evander Hollyfield in a huge money match.  

The first time Broner faced a tough hard to chew opponent when Marcus Maidana in December 2013  brought him to hell. Maidana mauled the showboat Broner in the first round that was punctuated with a knockdown.

I thought the wobbly drunk walking Broner could not recover on that beastly onslaught by the Argentinian.

Broner was knocked down again by Maidana in Round 8 and the mauling continued.

Mayweather did not like it that his copy cat Broner could just be teared and ripped apart by the Argentinian.

Maidana became a beneficiary of a two fights with Mayweather where for the first time in his career he earned an excellent payday.

After that Maidana tiff, Broner deteriorated but still fought and lost to Shawn Porter and Mickey Garcia, and a draw with Jesse Vargas last April 2018.

Pacquiao should  watch the  left hook and the right and left hooks combinations of Broner because despite the dominance of the whirling dervish Porter in the 12^th Round , the latter was hit by his vicious left hook that saw him landing butt first at the dais.

Will Manny drop on the canvass butt first, too? It depends if the big bosses of the strip allow Broner to do it to the presently well protected Manny P. tee- hee!?

Remember a mega rematch waits Pacquaio to face Mayweather. The big bosses of the Hurt Business in the gambling strip of Las Vegas will not allow that somebody hurt Manny and will allow those hundreds of millions of dollars jump off the window for a bum like Adrien Broner.
