SP Seeks Add’l Funding to Extend Lingayen Baywalk

LINGAYEN – The provincial government through the Sangguniang Panlalawigan expressed its full support to the extension of the Lingayen Baywalk project following the approval of Provincial Resolution No. 1063-2015 on January 12 during the SP’s regular session which also called for the endorsement of the project to the Department of Tourism for additional funding.
The Lingayen Baywalk project, of which initial works and funding were initiated by Congressman Leopoldo N. Bataoil, obtained full support from Governor Amado T. Espino, Jr.
Since its completion, it has since become a popular promenade overlooking the Lingayen Beach situated near the vicinity of the Capitol Compound by tourists, visitors and nhealthy lifestyle enthusiasts.
The Lingayen Baywalk was envisioned as an additional tourist attraction to the historic and tourist-oriented Lingayen Beach where people regardless of life status could gather and relax.
Resolution author, Board Member Nestor D. Reyes, said the Sangguniang Panlalawigan passed the resolution in last Monday’s regular session as the provincial legislative body fully supports the extension being in line with the provincial government’s thrust on tourism.

The baywalk has a stretch of 659 meters cement-paved straight path along the beach at the back of the Urduja House and the golf driving range at the Capitol Resort Hotel.
With the newly-approved resolution, the provincial government plans to extend the baywalk project to the town of Binmaley as per clamor of the people in the second district and its nearby localities.
